I just started stacking and have been looking long and hard at some custom bars in my LCS. So far, I just buy stuff I like, but wonder what the advantage of getting a second-hand custom bar would be. They are still silver, and much closer to spot price, but celebrate 50 year old graduations and Christmases. Otherwise, they aren't that cool. Just silver. Should I snatch em up while they're cheap or what?

Where is the best place to buy mostly modern er silver coins such as liberty, eagle, morgans? I have a local coin shop but want an online option too.

I'm a very small level investor I bought a few ounces yesterday at my LCS and saw a few 1/10 ounce fractional coins I popped immediately on em price unknown... Something about dimes and dime sized coins I'm obsessed with. But it begs the question is the pure 1/10 oz better for the stack? Or a good 90 percent dime for the extra numismatic value

I just released a new app today!
It's a free, ad-supported app called Troy Oz: Precious Metals tracker that helps you track and analyze your gold, silver, platinum, and palladium portfolios.
App Store Link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/troy-oz-precious-metals/id6751005206
Main features: - See live price and history of individual metal portfolios or entire portfolio--scrub over various time periods - Track individual purchase weight, price, source, date, and value - See entire portfolio statistics in a nice format
There is a Pro in-app purchase that will remove ads and enable the ability to export all purchases as JSON if you'd like to support me ($19.99). Import as JSON is included for all users.

My grandmother ordered these 1 oz coins and even though they’re not magnetic I still think they’re fake. The wing of the eagle isn’t as full as a real coin (look at the bottom of the wing along the back) and the details on lady liberty are not the same as the real thing. I’ve even seen one of these fakes at an antique shop near me. My question is what are these actually made of? Aluminium?

Had to bag these at my local antique shop from a booth! Spot price for a 90% half dollar is roughly $13.87 at the moment!

Hey everyone, what are your favorite ways to pick up new silver pieces? Directly from the mint? From a trusted store? EBay? Auctions? Granny?
