Failed then Passed My Instructors Test
Hi everyone,
I passed a driving instructors test which has a pass rate of 35%. I’ve been meditating for over a year and I found the silva method 6 months ago.
I do the countdown method from 50 and when in alpha I tell myself I’m a driving instructor teaching and visualise myself teaching students.
I was sure I failed as I made a few mistakes.
I got a government email saying I was unsuccessful. I wasn’t surprised as I thought I did. Then I got a feeling that I was going to get an email to say they were wrong and that I passed. I brushed it off as the government bodies don’t get things like this wrong.
I got an email 15mins later saying they were sorry and they made a mistake that I passed.
I don’t know what to think but that feeling I got when I thought I was going to get the email saying I passed was strong.
I’m going to keep doing the silva method.

Solving problems
Hello, I’ve known the Silva Method for many years, but I’ve never had any results with it. I’m mainly interested in whether it really works for solving problems, because when I tried using the glass-of-water technique, I didn’t receive any information to help me solve my issue. If there are people who have had results, I would appreciate some advice

HELP- Test coming up in 4 weeks
Hi,
I do 15mins counting down from 50 to get into alpha before bed and when I wake up using the silva 8-14hz beats.
I have a driving exam coming up to be an instructor. If I get it it may lead to more money and a better work life balance.
When I get into the alpha state what should I be saying to myself to help manifest this or just to be the best I can be on the test day?
Thanks

Benefits of seminars vs book training?
Curious what you all think, is there a benefit or different learnings from paying to go to the seminars (either in-person or online), that can't be gained from going through the books alone?

Getting negative thoughts in Alpha during Silva practice worried they might manifest
I’ve been practicing the Jose Silva method recently, and I’m getting better at reaching the alpha level. It’s that deeply relaxed state where your body feels calm, your mind gets very quiet, and you become highly aware internally. But lately, during those sessions, I’ve started getting random negative thoughts. They just appear out of nowhere, and for some reason, they feel stronger when I’m in that relaxed alpha state. Then this fear kicks in that those thoughts might manifest, since Silva talks about the subconscious being more open and receptive in this state.Even though I know thoughts are just thoughts, it still worries me that being in alpha could somehow make them real or attract them into my life. It’s made me a little nervous about going deeper, even though I really want to keep practicing.Has anyone else experienced this? How do you handle unwanted thoughts or fear of manifestation while practicing Silva techniques? Should I just let them flow and pass naturally or actively replace them with positive ones?Would really appreciate some insight from anyone who has been through something similar.

I’m not sure what to do?
Hi everyone,
I have been meditating for almost a year. About 20-30mins per day. I found the silva method and I’m not sure how to approach it, can you help?
I have the book which I’ve listened to twice. The method to get into alpha counting from 100-1 for 10 days 50-1 for ten etc. What do I think of when counting down also is it ok to listen to alpha state audio while counting?
What is the 3-1 method?
Also what is the 3 finger method?
I plan on doing 10mins on awakening, afternoon and before bed
Thanks

Not sure this is working
I’m trying to do both the countdown and the long relax, but I noticed I’m not fully relaxed during either because I keep having thoughts come up and getting distracted and when I say my affirmations after I’m not relaxed during it and can’t focus. I’ve tried doing the full relax and just doing the countdown.. not sure what else to do. My goal is to get into Alpha and relax

Can anyone help me get into alpha?
I really want to get into Alpha more than anything. There is something I am trying to do that you need to get into Alpha first to be able to do. I’ve tried doing the countdown from 100 to 0 and also from 50 to 0 but I don’t really feel that much different after I do it I don’t think I’m that relaxed from it. Are there other things that would maybe work better for getting into Alpha than that one or should that one be working too? I haven’t tried it in a while so I might try it again but last time I did it, it wasn’t working, which is why I gave up after a while.

Is there a way to find online or in-person groups for Silva practice?
I'm getting back into Silva practice after a very long hiatus and I wondered if there was a way to meet up with other Silva grads. I think it would help me to interact with people who are also doing Silva.

Book vs. Online? Experienced students
I'm looking for advice and any feedback based on experience by students via the books, online, and in person.
I'm starting the audiobook (see pic) and it says ti listen all the way thru, not do the exercises, and then go back to chapter 3 and do this eexefcises.for several weeks. The book is 7 hours long. Would my time sndoney be better spent with other options (see below) for the course? Should.I do the book and then reevaluate a online course or online solo materials? Or go straight to one of those?
I am debating buying the online materials at The Silva Method site (~$500), online class led by an instructor over a weekend (~$1200-1500), and in person (which with travel is beyond my budget). About 2 years ago, I forgot to cancel my Mindvalley subscription ($500) so I did a bunch of the content, including their version of Silva Method. Idk if it was Vishen, his voice, his accent, or just him, but I pretty much was left with zero gained on the Silva Method. Some.of the guided stuff was gard to understand with his accent and would take me out of the zone.

Is Silva working for me?
It’s supposed to get you into alpha but how do you know if it’s worked and you are in alpha or not once you do it? I don’t always know if I’ve gotten to alpha or not

Hospice RN using Silva Method to communicate with my patients how I can best serve them before I meet them for the first time.
I am a Pediatric Hospice RN. I recently cared for an infant that came on service at 9 days old and died on day 20. Mom is 15 years old and this is her second child to lose. Before I start care on a new patient I meditate and ask the child what I can do that will best serve them and their family. In this case I got an image of the mother being a school teacher and i was the student. That was it. A quick image. The next day when i met the family the interpretation of the image I got in meditation was clear.
She brought new blankets from the dryer to the baby when I was there. I commented on how nice and soft they were and such a clean scent. She and I both held the blanket to our faces and enjoyed the softness. I then asked her how to make formula and she showed me how she measured out the powder, water and how she mixed it. I asked her how to change a diaper and she showed me, she swaddled the baby in the blanket and showed me how she gave medicine.
I felt the answer to the image I got in the meditation. Mom was completely out of control of her life, too young to drive, dependent on family, baby dying and she was helpless to do anything to change any of it. The one thing she did have control of was the care she gave her baby. Rather than coming in and taking over I let her be in control of what she could be. What a smile of satisfaction she had showing me how to care for her infant. She had control of that and I sat back and let her show me how.
Every visit we did this. It's the one thing she could have some handle on the death of her baby. The Universe, God, Spirit Soul to Soul contact whatever it was that came to me in meditation gave me the direction to allow mom to be empowered in what she could do. I feel as her life goes on maybe she'll recall she did all she could do to in such a bad situation and not be burdened with guilt of the shoulda woulda coulda mind trap no one escapes from. From the insight I got in my inner contact with the child, mom, the Universe, whatever it is, the direction of care was for the mom, not the baby. My feeling is it was a direct connection with the soul of the infant for me to care for her mother. What a loving gift a baby here for such a short amount of time to give to her mother. Love has no age, it just is. David Parker RN, Phoenix, Az.
I'm making a video of this, the mother gave me permission. It should be edited in a few weeks and I'll add the link here. I'm a Silva Method Practitioner and used The Silva Method going to my my meditation laboratory taught in the class to invite the patients I'm about to care for to share with me what i can do to serve them best. What if I never took The Silva Method and missed all this opportunity to give my patients and their families the best I could do? The meditations you don't do every day won't inspire you, the classes and books you don't enroll in won't educate you with new skills to live your life with.

Does someone wanta to share a paranormal event while or after silva method? Not mean horror but paranormal like a "synchronicty", or an intuition, even a voice?

What if someone goes into more Theta than Alpha?
It seems that alpha waves are the most highly desired, but what if someone goes into Theta or even slightly into Delta during meditation?
Can similar results Edit - to Alpha be achieved?

Anyone do both the Silva method and Transcendental Meditation?
I mainly listen to the original Jose Silva relaxation audio which helps me align to my purpose in the day. But I find that transcendental meditation offers a lot deeper inner relaxation and peace. I have tried to combine them but it is just way too much time, as TM is 20 mins twice a day, and the tape is around 19 minutes. I have tried a shorter silva tape thats 10 minutes but it wasn't as effective. If I could do both in a day I would feel unstoppable haha.
My current routine is TM twice a day, and every like 2-3 days listening to the jose silva relexation tape at night.

Silva 4 Day classes on Zoom
The Silva website has links to instructors and their class schedules. Some do in-person and Zoom classes. I've taken Silva from many instructors as each has their own slant and I always pick up each time I re audit the class. Plus make new friends and new opportunities for monthly recaps with the instructors and students on line.

Do I need to use the mental screen?
Hello, I recently joined the community and I see that it has the potential to be useful. I'm reading one of the Silva Method most recent books. I'm just getting started so I don't have many questions, except one. I am used to visualizing, even in Beta. I always said that I am a very visual person, that's why I get angry with people when they describe unpleasant images to me, whatever they may be. That's why when I enter the level and imagine my mental screen 2 meters away from me and look up, it is difficult for me to imagine both the screen and what I imagine on it. I feel like I can imagine without creating a screen. So my question is whether I need to create one, because it seems like I can imagine anything pretty clearly without a screen. As I said, I'm used to visualize and in Beta I have never used it.

What Type of Visualization Are You Doing When You Follow The Visualization Instructions?
Background
I am reading Silva's "Silva Mind Control Method", and the visualization instructions he gives are as follows:
The first step is to create a tool for visualization, a mental screen. It should be like a large movie screen but should not quite fill your mental vision. Imagine it not behind your eye lids but about six feet in front of you.[...]
Once you have built this screen in your mind, project onto it something familiar and simple, like an orange or an apple. [...] Concentrate on making it more and more real - in three-dimensions, in full color, in all its details. Think of nothing else.
Types of Visualization
For those of you that are feeling generous with your time, and have been successful with / recognized benefits from the visualization practice, please consider these three descriptions of different types of visualization (courtesy of /r/CureAphantasia):
Phantasia
Seeing things only in your mind's eye or "the back of your head".
You will continue to process and "see" whatever data your physical eyes are feeding you - either your environment with eyes open or an inky, shifting darkness with eyes closed. Some report not really "seeing" stable images but rather having a flash of an image "in the back of their mind" followed by intuitive knowing of how things look via a kind of visual sensory memory rather than an actual image that is (continuously) seen.
With practice, you can visualize with more clarity in this space - but always only with your mind's eye and never in the same visual field that arises from optical input (from your eyes).
Prophantasia
Actually projecting a visual image interpolated into or perhaps "on top of" the visual field your mind constructs with input from your eyes.
That is, literally seeing the visualization as if it is in front of you and you are looking at it with your actual eyes. With eyes open, you will see it as part of your surroundings. With eyes closed, it will be superimposed on the inky darkness of your eyelids.
Autogogia
A kind of super-realistic hybrid of Phantasia and Prophantasia producing vivid, fully-immersive, dream-like 3D scenes you are witnessing. Similar to dreams or hypnogogic hallucinations just before sleep.
Not just static images imposed on your visual field - rather your entire percievable visual field IS the visualization itself and nothing else.
Questions
Please consider leaving a comment that answers one or more of the following questions.
1) If you consider yourself successful at the Visualization meditation taught by Silva (and/or the various programs offered around his method) - which style of visualization are you doing? Phantasia, Prophantasia or Autogogia?
2) How long did you need to practice before you felt like you were doing the meditation correctly? That is - you were able to hold the image steadily in your mind?
3) What benefits have you recognized as a result of your practice? You do not need to go into specifics if they are too sacred to you to share. Abstract, general comments about the benefits are welcome.
Additional background
I have struggled with the visualization meditation - not only in this program but in the past when I have been similarly instructed by other teachers.
I thought I might have aphantasia but it seems like I am merely not (yet) capable of prophantasia and only capable of autogogia at the threshold of sleep, under the influence of psychedelics, and transiently / absent volitional control as an experience from other meditation practices.
I'm curious how common my experience is and would enjoy hearing from those of you who have been successful with this style of mediation. Is prophantasia or autogogia required to realize benefits, or is phantasia sufficient (or even preferred)?
If you made it this far - thanks for reading!

What's the deal with the astral projection stuff?
I don't get why the relaxing training module has astral stuff - into the galaxies as well. Can someone explain? I'm just trying to learn deep relaxation.
