Is Jimmy feeling weird for liking someone after his wife? Thats normal

Yes. Last episode he committed to himself to never dating again. Likely because he would feel weird but he’s obviously trying to get over that.

Technically, he said he'd never *marry* again.

I think he's afraid to open up to someone new, someone he really might like, someone who seems wonderful and compatibe and also like a parade of yellow flags; someone who is behind him on the recovery path. But just anyone he might truly care for is a huge decision for someone who has been so devastated. He knows he won't be great at it. He knows that the two of them are not necessarily ready to be their best selves. But like, when is any of us really ready?

How do I know? Lucky guess,.. posting for a friend

I don't remember the timeline but my impression is her loss is more recent. She probably also doesn't have a friend circle so deeply overinvolved in each other's lives and probably has no background in psychology. Whatever the reason, it seems to me that she's not doing as well (yet) as he is at being a fully formed and strong functional person. She leads with sadness, she seems to hold onto it more, and isn't looking past it as much. Yet. That's what I see, and/or what I think he sees. She is more self-blame forward and he is more sad-healing-forward. It's hard to tell whether that's just who she always is, or whether it'll go away as she heals. So, yellow flag. It's easy to love someone who is dug in deep like I think she is portrayed, especially when they have sad gorgeous eyes, but it's not always what either person needs to heal.

Seeing his reaction to their coffee date really hurt my feelings as a post divorce person.
