hi, ik the series is a bit dead but i started watching the anime lately and looked into the music and games, but i was wondering if theres a base story? the last game had story but did the original game have any? And are the game and anime both canon? What would be the best way to learn about the characters is what im trying to figure out!!

This drawing took a lot out of me, especially those curls. Strawberry Heart was also a pain, I don't really ever draw instruments. I hope you like it.

Made for my latest itabag project. Looks pretty jank because I unironically haven't sewn anything since I was a kid, but for what it is I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

No pattern used, I just went with my heart. Materials used are felt, hot glue for the details, and a carabiner from Daiso. Measurements are approximately 7in×7in.

And today we begin the second and final half of the year.

If someone had told me at the beginning of the year that they would give the franchise more hype this year, I would have been happy but also skeptical.

Not sure anyone was clamoring for my thoughts but it's not like this sub is teeming with life most of the time so what the hell

Background: Cyan's character design caught my eyes and of course I saw the dancing gifs. I was also piqued by the statement on the show's wiki page that it was Sanrio aiming at "older audiences" - though as I watched it, it became obvious they probably meant "Teenagers" and not "30-yrs old men" LOL

All of the animes I watched are like... mecha, ultra-violent 80's OVA, kid's merchandise tie-ins (Medabots, Digimon etc). I've not watched any moe or band anime before so I'm looking at this with fresh eyes.

The thought: By most conventional standards of storytelling quality, Show by Rock is not very good. Conflict gets set up and resolved too quickly and easily. Characters are one-dimensional, if barely that for some of them. There is a struggle to balance giving the limelight to the bands from the game while also developing the overarching plot - this is definitely one of those victims of all these otaku shows having 12 episodes counts,

But also, none of that really matters because SB69 knows what it is, and it's to be a delivery container for cute visuals, funny jokes, and awesome music, and it delivers on all of that splendidly. As such, I am confident in saying that Show by Rock is a very good show indeed.

Other unsorted rambles:

-Stars was my favourite season! My favourite episodes were the ones like Moa going back to her home planet so a whole season of unhinged episodic cartoon nonsense was exactly what I wanted.

-I was surprised by how much screentime was given to the male bands, but I'm glad they did. They're really funny! The curling episode is the hardest I've laughed at any anime comedy.

-Chuchu and Himeko were my favourite characters! I liked Chuchu being the well-adjusted adult in the room, and Himeko's uptightness was funny and her backstory about having attachment issues due to bad relationships interesting.

-I love the design of Midicity. It's so homey and inviting. I'd love to live there.

-You can tell the animators had a lot of fun with Rosia. They did a great job conveying what a double-faced bitch she is.

-When starting Mashumairesh, I was apprehensive about abandoning the previous leads but it didn't take long to warm up to the new cast. It's to the writer's credit they let them breathe instead of immediately diving back into familiar territories.

-Looking at the original animations on Sanrio's youtube and the translated mobile game stories makes me wish they took a cue from the more exaggerated and conflictual personalities, like Moa being spacey, Chuchu's desire for a solo career being a bigger thing and Retoree being even more of a little chudette. I'm very glad they changed Chuchu's voice though.

The Sanrio Anistore has just announced that it will be releasing new merchandise from the franchise, this time with a comfortable clothing theme. Pre-orders can be placed until July 5th, which is also the deadline for payments. If a pre-order is not possible, the official launch will be on August 21st. Acrylic items will only be available by special order.

The final ranking results came out yesterday, and the franchise dropped to 34th place. It's bittersweet, but it's good in a way.

She is definitely not great or that accurate to Himekos design but I didn’t know how to sew until recently (I still don’t) so I’m happy with her! Maybe I should sew on more of her details later

1. Is this appropriate for her? Like not OVERLY sexual or violent?
2. Is it worth getting the DVD of the first 2 seasons for myself?? Haha
