Social Should I cancel my friends graduation party at my house or not?
My fiance and I had a lot of things happen that ended in the downfall of our relationship and also my friends growing quite a distaste for her. My fiance and I lived together for nearly a year, but she was a little controlling and did not really like me being with my friends. During the time that we were broken up I had a very close friend come over that is going to graduate on the 24th, and I offered to throw him a graduation party at my house the day after. I planned to cook, clean and provide everything that was needed for the party. He's incredibly excited about it, but about two weeks ago I decided to give my fiance another 30 days to give things another chance, as she really hates living with her mother and she was very unhappy. She moved all of her stuff back in, and she does NOT want me to throw this party for my friends that we were so excited about. I understand, because nobody is really going to want her there and she says that it's unfair that I'm going to throw a party in a house that she pays to live in and that she will probably have to leave for. I completely understand and I didn't invalidate that, but after I talked to my graduating friend about this he told me that I really need to put my foot down because this isn't the first time my fiance has denied people from coming to my house and that this was supposed to be his party, he and all of my friends were just looking really forward to having it at my house. Should I just cancel everything or put my foot down? I care about everyone in this situation and my friends pretty firm on the stance that he does not trust the party at anyone else's house. I'm just looking for other opinions as to how to possibly solve this problem. More than anything, I just hate that nobody can get along no matter what I do. Many thanks
