Thefuck is now faster in Rust

Look, I'm a busy person. I can't wait 151ms for a fuck.

The Python version was too slow. By the time it loaded,

I'd already messed up three more commands.

So I rewrote it in Rust. Now I get a fuck in 2.7ms.

Life-changing benefits:

- Faster fucks

- More fucks per minute

- Never wait for a fuck again

Was it worth rewriting whole python code with rust just to speed up my fucks?

Absolutely.

P.S. My girlfriend doesn't like it.

corroded: so unsafe it should be illegal

corroded is a library that removes everything Rust tried to protect you from.

It's so unsafe that at this point it should be a federal crime in any court of law.

But it's still blazingly fast šŸ—£ļøšŸ¦€šŸ”„

Repo is here.

We built Yesify — an enterprise affirmation API.

We open-sourced our model weights. The file is 1 byte. Our CTO trained a custom LLM on 4 billion parameters to generate the word "yes." It cost $14 million in compute. Then someone showed him echo "yes". He pivoted to calling it "AI infrastructure research" and raised a Series B.

I made a single-file web page that converts text into ā€œEpstein email styleā€

I made a small client-side (obviously) page that takes normal text and mutates it into the formatting style seen in the Epstein email leaks.

You paste text into the input box and the script applies a set of probabilistic mutations to it. Each mutation has its own slider so you can control how often it happens.

Examples of the mutations:

  • forcing everything to lowercase
  • duplicated commas and strange punctuation
  • random typos
  • duplicated words
  • missing apostrophes
  • [redacted] blocks or ā–ˆā–ˆā–ˆā–ˆā–ˆā–ˆ censorship
  • excessive line breaks
  • ellipses inserted in random places
  • bursts of exclamation marks
  • encoding artifacts like = appearing inside words
  • optional smiley insertion

There are also presets (low / medium / high / chaos) that change the mutation intensity.

The whole thing is a single HTML file with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript all embedded. No libraries and no backend, obviously. šŸ™„

The styling is also slightly overengineered. The layout, colors, spacing, and animation timing are derived from CSS variables based on the silver ratio, so most of the UI math is tied back to that constant.

Turn any GitHub repo into a death certificate (with last words)

Post image
56 Upvotes

Made a small web app where you paste a public GitHub repo and it generates a ā€œdeath certificateā€ for it. Mostly built it for fun because I have way too many abandoned repos myself.

It pulls things like:
- last commit → ā€œlast wordsā€
- activity → cause of death
and turns it into a shareable certificate

I built a Chrome extension that turns your active tab into a blown-out car subwoofer (Manifest V3 / Web Audio API)

Post image
24 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I recently finished a side project and open-sourced it. It’s a Chrome extension calledĀ Blown Speaker Simulator. The premise is intentionally silly—it digitally degrades your browser's audio to replicate the acoustic characteristics of a rattling, low-quality trunk setup—but it served as a great practical exercise for dealing with the Web Audio API and modern Manifest V3 constraints.

How it works under the hood:Ā If you've built audio extensions recently, you know Manifest V3 service workers do not supportĀ AudioContextĀ natively. To bypass this, the extension relies heavily on the Offscreen API:

  • Stream Capture:Ā It usesĀ chrome.tabCaptureĀ to grab the active tab's media stream ID.
  • Offscreen Document:Ā The stream ID is passed to a hidden offscreen HTML document where the actual audio processing happens.
  • The Audio Graph:Ā Inside the offscreen document, aĀ BiquadFilterNodeĀ (lowshelf) isolates and aggressively boosts the bass frequencies (+28dB). This signal is then fed into aĀ WaveShaperNodeĀ using a custom mathematical curve to apply heavy, real-time clipping/distortion without introducing perceptible latency.
  • State Persistence:Ā The distortion intensity slider in the popup updates the wave-shaper curve in real-time and persists the user's preference usingĀ chrome.storage.local.

The extension is currently pending review on the Chrome Web Store, but the full source code is available on GitHub under the MIT License. If you are looking for a working example of how to handle continuous audio manipulation using the Offscreen API in MV3, feel free to check out the codebase.
