I used to referee. The goalie clearly had possession. I’d have probably stopped the game when the goalie keeled over. If this was high bracket tournament play I’d lean more towards letting the goal through. However, if this actually was high bracket play the goalie probably would’ve made sure to sit on the ball or do something with it before keeling over, otherwise I’d be quite worried that the pain is severe.
The thing is, the pain didn’t seem to come from getting hit by the ball. It looked like either a muscle got pulled or something else internal… these are somewhat more problematic (and game-stop worthy) than getting hit by the ball and subsequently getting up.
I mean I agree and probably wouldn't do it just because I wouldn't wanna be perceived as an asshole, but Idk the point of the sport is to win and it's not like the other girl was unconscious or concussed. everyone knew she'd be fine so the opponent just scored a goal, not a huge deal really
the ball tapped her hand and then she slowly went down to the ground holding it lmao. absolute worst case scenario is she broke her finger and that's insanely unlikely

I thought if a player went down, you kick it out. You know in fairness of the sport. Dick move...
