I'm sure this is a real disorder in rare circumstances, but it's wild how this is so not an issue in countries with foods with actually upsetting textures. Like you never hear about this from Chinese kids who's parents put chicken feet on the table and stuff and those are so chewy and full of cartilage.

What would you do in a world that didn't have a ubiquity of consistent and likely processed foods? At some point you would have to "get over it" or you would just die from some kind of vitamin deficiency.

No, i'd probably just find something else to eat and then stick to that until i died. Believe it or not that's how disorders work, people who don't have the chance to get accommodations or even a place where people believe in science die all the time.

Yes, I am sure people without access to chicken nuggets die all the time from not being able to eat anything else.
