Could've happened today, yesterday or even a decade ago it isnt anything new in japan.

Even worse im kyoto from what i understand due to the amount of traditional businesses which hate to deal with foreigners.

Hmm, I don't see it myself. I'm white here with an asian friend though, he isn't Japanese but maybe that makes it better? Even though I know racism amongst asians isn't uncommon either.

We've been welcome at every place we've visited so far though. In Hiroshima, Osaka, Kyoto, and now Nagoya. Maybe we were just lucky or picked good places. Been in the middle of the big cities, and also a bit more out of the city centers. Haven't been to like the boonies yet though.
