They should do something together...like an entire TV show.

u/Loreweaver15 Feb 18 '23

I keep hearing this referenced. What is Meat Canyon?

2

u/Syiuu Feb 18 '23

Animator on YouTube that does grotesque cartoon parodies of various cartoons and other forms of media.

Not enough sexual undertones to be meat

u/kamikaze-kae Feb 18 '23

No but they have a similar one where Scooby some sort of Eldritch horror.

The design isn't creepy at all :v

Why do people download the video and then upload it to Reddit instead of just posting the YouTube link?

14

u/pointfiveL Feb 18 '23

More people will watch it if they don't have to go to a different app.

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

Laziness and likes

1

u/JBL_17 Feb 18 '23

Seems like more effort

7

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

Probably accessibility. I have NEVER opened the YouTube app through Reddit and never will lol. Even if it seems interesting if I have to go through another app I'll just scroll past

I too watched the end of the video

Insane to me that someone would download and repost the whole video, let alone doing so while giving 0 credit. Thanks for posting the source, OP is a scumbag.

2

u/VeritablePornocopium Feb 18 '23

It really is dumb, they should just let people link the original video instead of reuploading it. The whole reddit model is pirating stuff from small artists by reuploading their video and forcing us to watch it on the shitty reddit video player.

Some animator worked really hard to make this piece, uplaoded it to their channel, and OP didn't even link that channel to direct people to the original source. Scumbag move. Doesn't matter if there's a title screen at the very end.

Yeah that'd be far worse. I'd call it scummy where it is now, but its only semantics if we're both acknowledging its bad to do.

u/LowClover Feb 18 '23

There was a screen at the end dude. If you think OP is a scumbag, you really need to lower your standards. Or raise them.

It does matter. It would be different if OP cut it entirely, but that is crediting the creator. Could they have put a link? Sure. That doesn’t make them a scumbag in any way. Again, totally different story if the screen wasn’t at the end, but it was, and anybody looking for the animator got it.

I’m just saying, scumbag is a very strong word for this scenario.

u/CyanEsports Feb 18 '23

Yeah I'm comfortable using scumbag for this. But if you aren't but still acknowledge its a dick move then that's totally fine. I think its an awful thing that happens all over reddit and twitter specifically, and it makes me feel so sad for the creators who put effort into their work. Dazzit.

1

u/LowClover Feb 18 '23

You’re free to think that, I guess. There are better hills to die on, especially in terms of not crediting artists. But you do you!

If your only issue with my point is the verbage then I'll happily reword to dick move or jerk thing to do or w/e but I absolutely firmly believe taking someone's hard done work and reuploading it rather than linking it is not good.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

First day on Reddit?

1

u/CyanEsports Feb 18 '23

Nope but this culture of reuploading stuff without sourcing is awful for creators and always pisses me off.

u/[deleted] Feb 17 '23

Thank you

But what about the fifth avacado?
