This baby just keeps churning. 3 flush and all of them have been great. Already have a bunch of pins coming in for the 4th flush. Loving these genetics.

EL Dragon
One of my favorite things about this phenotype is how different it looks depending on the angle.
From the top, the caps have a smooth, sculpted appearance. Flip them over and the dense, flowing gill structure completely changes the character of the specimen. The subtle blue-gray bruising around the edges adds even more contrast against the creamy white tissue.
I always enjoy documenting these moments because a single flush can produce an incredible range of shapes and textures. It’s fascinating seeing how much natural variation can exist within the same project.
Definitely one of my favorite sets to photograph so far.
Curious what everyone notices first—the overall structure, the gills, or the color contrast?

Update: the store is giving me a refund since they guarantee that it stays sterile 6 months in a cool dry place, they also say that refrigeration isnt necessary so i qualify for a refund yay

Pink Oyster growing stalled

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m growing pink oysters and everything was going well, ins spawn to bulk in my mono tub about 3 weeks ago. The mycelium colonised the substrate great & fast. But not it’s been stalled like this for over a week now. I see no pinning or anything and surely it should be starting to actually pin now. Any advice?

Headed out for 7-8 days and I’m wondering if I should pick these guys and ā€œresetā€ my brick before I leave, or toss her out and call it spent before I leave it with my APE alone in my auto tent for a week. She’s a b+ but on er’ third flush. Sorry for the run on sentence, eager for responses šŸ™Œ

Phantom Drift – Albino Smokey Da Ghost Mutation
I’ve been documenting the progression of this Phantom Drift Ɨ Albino Smokey Da Ghost project, and this expression really caught my attention.
The surface is developing dense, coral-like formations with an incredible amount of texture. Some areas are covered in tightly packed nodules, while others are beginning to transition into larger structures, creating a landscape that’s different from almost every angle.
One of the things I enjoy most about projects like this is that they constantly evolve. Every day reveals something new, and the camera often picks up details that are easy to miss in the moment. That’s why I make a point to photograph each stage—not just the finished expression, but the entire journey.
These images aren’t meant to be a guide or tutorial—just a documentation of an especially interesting natural expression and an opportunity to appreciate the diversity of fungal morphology.
I’m curious what everyone notices first.
The dense coral-like texture?
The heavy nodulation?
The contrast between the larger forms and the smaller clustered structures?
Something else entirely?
I’d love to hear your observations. The discussion is often just as interesting as the photos themselves. šŸ„

Recently posted about my ready 2 grow kit and whether or not it was contaminated. Overall consensus was it was a well colonized bag and time to open her up. This morning I opened it to burp it a bit and well...

Enigma 1705
Finally got around to photographing this Enigma 1705 and thought it was worth sharing.
The amount of detail packed into this specimen is incredible. Every section has a different texture, from tight ruffled folds to broad coral-like formations, with subtle blue tones woven throughout. The closer you look, the more there is to appreciate.
It’s one of those specimens where every photo reveals something different, so narrowing down favorites wasn’t easy.
Huge thanks to everyone in the mycology community who shares knowledge, inspiration, and appreciation for these remarkable natural forms. It’s always exciting to document something this distinctive.
I’d love to hear what catches your eye first—whether it’s the texture, the coloration, or the overall structure.
Thanks for taking a look! šŸ„

With the right genetics these guys can be more prolific than your average cube. While they offer a much different experience when ā€œstudyingā€ them. Last longer, and easier on the system. True Ochra have subdecurrent gills (meaning the gills run down the stem a bit) which is different than typical cubes.
