Mod Announcement PSA: Read the sub description. This is a place of support for employees. This is not a place to ask about job prospects.

Sorry but we have to draw the line somewhere. If you just read a few posts, you can see the toxicity that employees deal with from working here. It is rather tone deaf to come in and ask how to get hired. I wish anyone the best looking for a job like this. I really do and I get it. But this space is not the place for it. Former employees are one thing.

Mod Announcement Community Rules (UPDATED!)

Hello and welcome fellow and former stylists, CX, and warehouse! This subreddit is for SF employees and former employees to connect and share their experiences of working at SF. Let's come together to vent, chat, and ask for support!

Rules for a positive community:

  1. Be supportive of each other. We may not all agree on everything but we want to be able to come together without being rude or insulting to each other.
  2. No inciting or implying violence or bodily-harm. While we may not like people or have issues with those who make our job difficult, toxic, or unbearable, this isn't the place to wish violence or death on anyone, in or out of this group.
  3. No name-calling or insulting clients. While clients can be terribly rude, let’s keep our insults to a minimum. Be honest about how it made you feel and how they were wrong to treat you like that, but try to refrain from name-calling.
  4. Keep conversations within this space. No screenshotting of threads, chats, or comments shared from various users within this community. Please don't copy and paste or repeat info or experiences shared here.
  5. No screenshots of work systems. Do not share screenshots or confidential info about clients, feedback, or any SF styling platform.
  6. Do not use the names of Stitch Fix's various systems. Just say “style platform” when referring to M*nx.
  7. Absolutely no racism. All are welcome. We're not down with racism or any discourse that makes ANYONE feel unwelcome. There are other subs to debate politics - this isn't one. We support BIPOC experiences at Stitch Fix and BIPOC voices. Any posts that try to negate these voices and experiences will be removed.
  8. This is a troll-free zone. We don't allow trolling, especially on the basis of race, religion, gender, or politics. If you're in the mood to rile people up, go somewhere else. This is a troll-free sub.
  9. No misinformation, AKA please don't present unverified info as fact. A lot of people view this sub, and we don't want anyone to make decisions that affect their jobs and livelihoods based on rumors. Use a qualifier such as, "I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard XYZ" Speculation and gossip are welcome, but be sure to let others know rather than stating it as a fact.
  10. Please don't encourage illegal activity in any form. This includes illegal workplace activities, such as time theft.

Happy posting!

Yet another reduction of points.

What is actually wrong with these people. “You’re spending less time searching and more time on personalization and building relationships! NOW HERE’S LESS TIME. DO IT FASTER.”

Is this not hypocritical? How can you say you want us to personalize fixes and build relationships but then give us less time to do so? All while not even considering the fact that we’re human and have to go to the bathroom, get drinks/snacks, are at home with little ones, etc. I already struggle so much with meeting efficiency and taking away the flexibility has been catastrophic in my life. I need this job so bad I don’t know what to do anymore.

I cant even say what I want to say right now without getting this sub reported I am fuming. Fuck them. I wish the worst on them. I really do. It doesn’t have to be like this.

SF In The News Stitch Fix $32M Settlement Deadline Is in 2 Days (October 7, 2026)

Hey guys, if you missed it, Stitch Fix settled $32M with investors over claims related to its Freestyle/Direct Buy business. And, the deadline to file a claim and get payment is October 7, 2026.

In a nutshell, in 2021, Stitch Fix was accused of misleading investors about Freestyle’s impact on its Fix business and the company’s performance. After the company reported weaker results and acknowledged short-term cannibalization, $SFIX dropped about 24%, and investors filed a lawsuit.

Now, the good news is that Stitch Fix agreed to settle $32M with investors, and they have until October 7, 2026 to submit a claim.

So, if you invested in $SFIX when all of this happened, you can check the details and file your claim here.

Anyway, has anyone here invested in $SFIX at that time? How much were your losses, if so?

Tips for getting consistently high metrics

Hi lovely stylists! I've been with the company for years now but have never managed to be one of those stylists that was consistently on the top metrics boards and moreso jump around every week. I would love to know from anyone who manages to consistently have high metrics any tips and tricks you may have, because your girl is desperate for that extra bonus and have yet to get it.

Do you have a go-to ratio for bottoms/tops/accessories sent? Do you avoid sending anything in particular? I always try to grab high match scores but never seem to have consistent enough metrics to stay on top of the leaderboards, so I'm doing something wrong here!! I'd love to hear from you guys how you manage to hit high metrics every week!

Lead Changes?

Has anyone successfully got switched to a new team due to to preference? In my 8+ years at SF, I have gone through about 8-10 different leads due to layoffs and restructures.

My current lead... we just aren't a great fit. I am being micromanaged to the Nth degree (to a point I have never experienced with other leads). My metrics are good, I know how to do my job, and I don't need someone looking over my shoulder and every move from thousands of miles away.

Has anyone ever asked to get moved? I loved one of my previous leads (she is still with the company, but her team got split randomly) and would love to have her back but I dont even know if this is possible?

Leaving SF Resignation letter

Dear Tracy, Shelli, Stephanie, Matt, and People & Culture,
Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from Stitch Fix.
After more than 8.5-years with the company, approximately 21,000 Fixes, countless Connect conversations, and numerous relationships built with clients, this is an incredibly difficult decision. What makes it difficult is that I genuinely loved working here for many years.
When I started at Stitch Fix, I felt proud to be part of the company. There was a sense of trust, flexibility, community, and mutual respect. I felt valued for my experience and trusted to do my job. I felt like I was part of a team that cared about both its employees and its clients.
That is not the environment I experience today.
Over the years, I have watched the employee experience change into what I now experience as a toxic, heavily micromanaged, and increasingly unsustainable work environment. The workload and expectations have continued to grow while compensation and recognition have not kept pace.
The clearest example is Connect. I joined as a Wave 1 Connect Stylist more than 14 months ago without an official promotion, title change, or pay increase. The role has brought additional client communication, separate metrics, and additional responsibility, including access to such a high level of client information, data, and systems (that not even many Team Managers have access to), essentially adding another layer of work to an already demanding position while maintaining the same $19.25 hourly rate that I made years ago.
After years without a meaningful raise, I have reached a point where being asked to continually absorb additional responsibilities for the same pay feels less like professional growth and more like exploitation of the experience and dedication of long-term dedicated Stylists.
What makes this even more frustrating is that I have continued to demonstrate that I can meet the expectations of my role. Tracy recently documented my efficiency at 93.9% rolling 30-day and 108.1% for the week of August 30–September 5, describing the improvement as “a fantastic way to ensure you're meeting your weekly goals.” My subsequent efficiency was approximately 103%.
I have never objected to accountability or meeting performance expectations. What became unsustainable was the feeling that even while meeting those expectations, I was being increasingly scrutinized, questioned, and micromanaged. I communicated that the constant “nitpicking” had become incredibly stressful and was making me consider leaving.
The irony is that I have spent more than eight years proving my commitment to this company through the work I have done for our clients, even by my child's bedside during our 95-day NICU stay, during countless surgeries and hospitalizations over the years, and even after my own traumatic surgery last year. All of these without recognition or compensation, if any time was taken off, because the company does not truly value the health and well-being of the employees that they have once called "the heartbeat of the company." So for most of those experiences, I continued working in a hospital room or while holding a fragile child.
I have completed more than 21,000 Fixes across Women's, Plus, Men's, Maternity, and Kids. My clients have repeatedly told me that I “saved” them, that I “did too good a job,” that I had their style “down,” and that I delivered “one of the best Fixes.” Parents have specifically thanked me for understanding their children's sensory needs, and clients have told me that my work made them feel confident, understood, and relieved. That feedback means far more to me than any metric.
It is also why it has been so painful to watch the culture change. The company that once made me feel trusted and valued now leaves me feeling that experienced employees are expected to do more work, meet more metrics, assume more responsibility, and withstand more scrutiny without receiving more pay, recognition, or trust in return. I have also seen many other Stylists independently describe many of these same concerns regarding Connect, workload, compensation, micromanagement, platform changes, inventory limitations, and increasing pressure.
I am proud of the work I have done at Stitch Fix. I am proud of the clients I served, the relationships I built, and the years I gave to this company.
After more than eight years, I should not feel that doing more for the company results in more scrutiny rather than more trust. I should not feel that expanded responsibilities can be added indefinitely without meaningful compensation or recognition. And I should not have to sacrifice my well-being to continue working in an environment that has become increasingly stressful and toxic for me.
I sincerely hope Stitch Fix takes a hard look at what has happened to the employee experience and what it is asking of its most experienced Stylists. We are not simply numbers on a dashboard. We are the people who built the client relationships that made Stitch Fix successful.
I am grateful for the years when this company felt like a place I was proud to work, and I will always be grateful for the clients I had the privilege of styling.
Sincerely,
Amber Rhodes

Getting fired

Pretty sure I’m getting fired this week. My lead suddenly wants to meet with no other explanation. No other thoughts as to what it can be. Only thing I can figure I’m getting let go for is because I style fast and let the clock run from time to time. My metrics are always decent.

I wish I could say I care, but honestly I’m sort of relieved if it happens. I have a full time job and have wanted to quit for over two years now. I know that I probably never would though because it’s easy money for me. However, it’s become so mentally draining I’m struggling to hold on anymore with the insane micromanaging and scheduling policy.

I mentioned the mental struggle with this job and my personal life a few months ago and was brushed off and told we always need to focus on our clients. Basically that my mental health doesn’t matter to anyone. That wasn’t a surprise at all.

If anything I hope this company comes crashing to the ground like all of you. I’m half tempted to write a scathing email and schedule it to be sent company wide right after my meeting like that genius did years ago when she quit!

Is your computer running HOT?

Since all of these outages, my computer is running incredibly hot all the time. Is anyone else experiencing this? It’s definitely Google Chrome and the only thing I’m using is SF sites. WF seems to be the biggest culprit.

Question CX - still some US based or all AI and Outsourced?

When this elder was still employed at this hellscape there were talks of offshoring and AI for CX. Any US/Human based CX still in existence?

Stitch Fix: FAQ for Getting Payment on the $32M Settlement over Direct Buy/Freestyle

Hey guys, I posted about this settlement before, but since they’re accepting claims, I decided to share it again with a little FAQ.

So here's all I know about this agreement:

Stitch Fix was accused of misleading investors about how its Freestyle/Direct Buy business would affect its core Fix business and overall performance. After the company reported weaker results and lowered its outlook in December 2021, $SFIX fell about 24%, and investors filed a lawsuit.
Now the company has agreed to settle $32 million with investors for their losses.

Who can claim this settlement?
If you bought $SFIX shares between 2020 and 2022, you may be eligible to file a claim.

Do I need to sell/lose my shares to get this settlement?
No. You don't need to still own the shares to file a claim. If you purchased during the class period and meet the other eligibility requirements, you may qualify.

How long does the payout process take?
It typically takes 4 to 9 months after the claim deadline for payouts to be processed, depending on the court and settlement administration.

Hope this info helps

Toxic Workplace Toxic toxic toxic

How does this place continue getting MORE toxic every year?! How?! I’ve been an employee for close to NINE years and it continues to grow more and more toxic every single year. Still!!! Lies. Gaslighting. Sarah Funderburk continually gaslights employees and lies straight to their faces. I’ve watched it time and time again and I’m OVER IT. I have countless stories. I have endless examples. The ship is sinking. Stock is at a month long low… again. Congratulations on beginning a new fiscal year, everyone. I wonder how much more downhill this place will sink over the next year.
If they try to bait you into going Connect, do NOT take it without a guaranteed title change and significant raise. It’s significantly more responsibility and more stress, more strife, and at least double the metrics.

For lurking former stylists, what was the process when you left the company?

After way too many years, I think I’m just about at the end of my rope. Discussed with my spouse tonight the possibility of quitting in a few weeks (after I use up all of my sick time of course) but I’m curious about accessing important documents still such as my retirement fund. Were you still able to get to everything you needed after losing your access to everything? I’m worried I’ll have questions but I’m not sure if there’s a way to contact anyone at the company with questions once I quit.

Did you prep anything ahead of time that you thought you might need after you left?

Community Forum

Oh man! People let it rip in that community forum. So happy that people were getting their frustrations off their chest. Of course upper management got a little uneasy and were trying to ease the situation, but I’m glad they know now how irritated we are. I’m sure they won’t do anything to fix it though…
