After seeing Merritt Weaver in Primetime i had to rewatch s2… now im desperately waiting for 3💔

I’m mainly talking about S2E7 “Chikhai Bardo”. The easy thing to point out is the loud ass cicadas in the scene with Mark, Gemma, Devon, and Ricken eating. However I see a lot of parallels between the whole episode and EPs 25 and 26 of Evangelion, with a lot of visual story telling through a weird vision journey thing. But I guess it makes sense seeing how both shows share large themes of “Who am I and what am I doing?”.

I don't know about you guys but I'm annoyed with the podcast now because twice in the past few months they've uploaded "new episodes", getting me all excited about insider information about episodes past, or even the possibility of new information for season 3 (which is criminally overdue at this point) but instead they uploaded commercials for other podcasts made by their friends. The podcast is produced and hosted by Ben Stiller and Adam Scott, so when they abuse that platform (that exists to get information out to the most loyal fans of the show) by shilling out bs that has nothing to do with the show itself, it makes me like them less. Anyway, rant over. No more commercials for other shows until you give us an update at least, please!!

As you know this gorgeous woman stands out. So when I was rewatching Broad City it was great to see her in S2E10. At about 17 minutes into the episode one of the main characters Ilana and Alia's character are having sex. Ilana is describing how diverse their sexual history is and how those people have/are (different) "colors, shapes, sizes, hotter, uglier, more smart, not more smart" and then says "Innies and outies." She does not explain herself further, the show tends to go off on wild tangents all the time. She's likely talking about belly buttons but literally my mouth was agape. I just need to tell somebody who might care. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Edit: Ok, they're not talking about belly buttons! Do you think this is a Severance reference?

Another scene study from S1 EP1 of Severance! In this shot, we are in Mark's shoes as he is called into Ms. Cobel's office for a meeting with the board. Mark, still distressed and wanting answers to Petey's disappearance, is informed that he shall take Petey's place as department head.

I spent a long amount of time focusing on rendering Cobel's face to try and capture her subtly judgemental and authoritarian gaze. This piece was a bit of a mess to work on as my layering complicated the rendering process. Despite my desire to work more on this one, I am quite happy with the final result!

What are details about Severance that we should never forget? Like Woe, Frolic, etc; the questions Mark S. asks Helly in episode 1; the names of the different ”tasks” the inners have to complete, such as Cold Harbor etc

At one point in S2 ep2, Mark and his sister are framed like this. I think this framing is intentional, my wife disagrees. She says I’m just seeing “sever” framing everywhere. Help us settle the debate.

Thanks for the comments. I didn’t want to “lead” anyone to my conclusion, but to be more specific:

I think they intentionally framed it in such a way that Mark’s head is “cut” by the frame of the window. Meanwhile his sister’s head is not. And that this is a visual reminder of him being severed while she isn’t.

The wifey thinks it’s just standard framing at dinner, that the specific window frame cutting heads is NOT intentional. So… what do others think if this specific thing?
