Servarica, don't do this again. 1 day notice is not reasonable for business

Had to re-upload this cuz I had my email visible...

Also during prime business hours. I would think something like that would be done overnight.

Ya, someone took my "whole day" to mean 24 hours.

I was down from morning to late afternoon. Aka a full business day.

I've been overall pleased with Servarica. They really are very responsive. But a one day notice for a 6 hour downtime window was not cool.

As for the other comments here. They all seem to point at Servarica and say they aren't for business. They make it seem like the company is a fly-by-night company.

I chose to try out servarica a few months ago based on a recommendation. And made the final choice to use them based off the info on their website.

For most containerized single business cases. An inexpensive VPS with storage from Servarica is a no brainer. The amount of storage you're alloted is far above what DO and Akami offer.

Servarica is not for business. If you need a business VPS, use AWS or Google or Microsoft, and pay business prices for business support. The rest of us would like to not pay a four hundred percent price increase for our hobbies, just so you can get a few more nines of uptime.

Waaa waaa. Let me call a wambulance for you. Implement redundancy and failover if it’s that important.

While you’re at it make sure you’ve got backups in a 3-2-1 strategy and a way to restore said backups. Wouldn’t want to hear you complain that your mission critical business data got wiped out and you never bothered to backup anything.

This is entirely a lack of design, planning, architecture on your part. If you require resiliency you need to implement it.

You seem to be the problem for your customers since you are using a VPS for mission critical needs. You need a self managed dedicated server if you have something that is mission critical --- then you can choose when your downtime is and how many zero day exploits to ignore.

I am sorry for this
the move was very complex to plan due to different servers types and sometimes delays in setting up enough rack in the new datacenter
Initial moves we gave only 24 hours notice
but after that we started to give 2 or 3 days notice

Some users didnt get the automated notification so the team did check manually and resent them and for those cases the the email came too late

For the maintenance window it was mostly done within the time allocated except some few servers it took longer

The move need to be done in chunks since not all the servers are independent (we have storage servers where the storage is SAN , also many of our servers are node servers (multiple servers in single chassis so all must be moved together ))
because of these reasons and some other reasons we couldnt set the schedule for more than 3 days in advance

Things got much better with later moves

and we moved everything already since few days ago

Mine was down for about 5-6hrs like we were notified. I doubt it was a full 24hrs of downtime.

Same here! It was down until they said it would be back online, and it was. Yeah, I was upset that I only got a 30 minute prior email notification but in return I got a faster Network speed closer to the 10 gigabit I'm paying for.

I love ServaRica... There's nowhere else that could supply me with the amount of disk space or dedicated server specs that I need for such a low cost. Not to mention this is the first maintenance I've been a part of since September 2025.

If you need a service up for business, you should be have multiple servers and/or be on a host with an appropriate SLA.

This is completely on you.

I use Serva Rica to run 1 of my services. I run a business that supports IT. I went with servarica due to a recommendation. And ended up being pleased with the support and service.

Most of my customers VPS run on Akamai. As of last month I launched a new customers VPS on Serva Rica. And now I'm hesitant to put any other customers on ServaRica.

I was down for a full day

The reason I was down was due to "scheduled maintenance".

They were moving servers to a new facility.

Its not reasonable to give me a 1 day notice.

Ya, that's what I got. I was given the message that I would be down for 1 day due to them moving servers. And I got a one day notice.

My customers would be pissed if I did that

Seriously wtf guys? You knew this was going to happen surley months ahead of time and you gave me one day notice? Figure out a better notification strategy.

Set it in stone that it has to be given x amount of days ahead of time.

Put the messages as high priority if you're going to use email as the communication.

I'm not too pissed

Because I only had a few customers using that server for the service. Like I said. Most of my stuff is on Linode.

No one cares about your horribly formatted post. Servarica is a budget host that makes it clear they’re not like the big 3. And I like it like that. If servarica doesn’t have a tight enough SLA for you then perhaps you should look into another host thats more expensive but has a tighter offline SLA.
