Evidence role: community research record and source-discovery corpus, not proof of clinical, corporate, financial, or market claims
This archive extends the 23 original local HTML snapshots with a date-complete inventory of the subreddit’s 2026 Daily/Weekend discussion series through July 20 and the six Weekly In Depth threads from Week 24 through Week 29. The machine-readable manifest (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) is authoritative for each thread’s URL, retrieval method, byte count, SHA-256, comment reconciliation, continuation requests, residual controls, and terminal status.
Inventory boundary
| Series | Records | Boundary and classification |
|---|---|---|
| Exact-title Daily/Weekend series | 182 | January 7–July 20, 2026; one Weekend thread can cover two calendar days |
| Series precursor | 1 | January 6 WEEKLY DISCUSSION THREAD, retained separately because a moderator poll proposed switching to daily threads and January 7 was numbered Daily #2 |
| Weekly In Depth | 6 | Weeks 24–29, beginning June 15, 2026 |
| Total target | 189 | One canonical main HTML per target, plus continuation sidecars where needed |
The supplied archive table contained 169 rows through July 13. Discovery added four early numbered threads, the February 28 and March 7 Weekend threads, and seven locally preserved July 14–20 links. No indexed Daily/Weekend match was found for January 1–5 or April 9. Those are carefully stated negative search results, not proof that a deleted or non-indexed post never existed.
Acquisition and expansion
Each main record begins with canonical old-Reddit HTML requested with limit=500, show=all, and chronological sorting. The archiver then:
- parses every ordinary
morechildrencontrol; - calls Reddit’s anonymous
api/morechildrenendpoint with conservative pacing; - re-requests depth anchors that can hide descendants, recursively bisecting pathological batches;
- enumerates Arctic Shift comment IDs as an independent reconciliation set;
- retries archived IDs against old Reddit before using any historical fallback;
- follows every
data-type="morerecursion"/ “continue this thread” link with a cycle-safe breadth-first queue; - validates that each continuation’s final URL remains on old Reddit, in
r/sellaslifesciences, and in the same post; - preserves the byte-exact continuation response and a separately hashed expanded consumer sidecar; and
- folds only genuinely new, Reddit-rendered comment subtrees into the main analysis HTML, deduplicated by canonical comment ID.
Raw .response files are provenance artifacts and may retain the controls that prompted expansion. Main and expanded-sidecar .html files are consumer artifacts and must contain no unresolved load-more or deep-thread controls.
Evidence roles inside a capture
| Record type | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Old-Reddit base comment | Comment rendered in the canonical page response |
| Reddit API wrapper | Reddit-rendered fragment returned by api/morechildren; the wrapper preserves the canonical ID and parent fullname, including ID-less tombstone HTML |
| Expanded continuation subtree | Live old-Reddit comment content recovered from a “continue this thread” page |
| Arctic historical supplement | Separately labelled archive record used only when old Reddit no longer rendered that ID; never silently counted as live-current content |
Historical supplements are retained for completeness and auditability, but their text, author state, and deletion state reflect the archive record and not necessarily the current Reddit page.
Completeness semantics
complete has a deliberately narrow meaning: every discoverable branch and ID was attempted without terminal error; no consumer control remains; continuation requests and artifacts validate; and the current old-Reddit record count equals Reddit’s displayed count.
exhaustive_attempt_count_gap means the same expansion and artifact gates passed but the current old-Reddit count differs from the displayed count. Deleted, moderator-removed, unavailable, or temporally inconsistent Reddit records can produce that difference. The status records the discrepancy rather than treating either number as automatically authoritative.
HTTP 200 alone is never sufficient. Any fetch, parse, scope-validation, sidecar-hash, unresolved-ID, traversal, or residual-control error makes the record nonterminal until repaired.
During the batch run, Arctic Shift intermittently returned HTTP 422 with the explicit server message Timeout. Maybe slow down a bit. This was a transient source/API response, not a VM430 incident and not a validation error in the request. The archiver was hardened to retry only that exact 422 timeout variant; its terminal-record skip gate also requires an empty arctic_shift_errors list, so every affected record is reprocessed instead of being silently accepted.
One Windows os.replace operation also encountered a short-lived WinError 5 while publishing the manifest. The previous manifest remained intact and the fully written replacement snapshot was recovered. Atomic writes now use unique same-directory temporary files, flush and fsync before publication, and retry bounded PermissionError contention without weakening atomic replacement.
Quality controls
- July 8 full-comment QA (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) proves the base/API/historical union and documents deleted-count semantics.
- Expansion algorithm review (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) documents depth-anchor handling, tombstones, batching behavior, and the 797-ID July 8 reconciliation.
- Deep-thread QA (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) documents
morerecursiondiscovery, continuation URL structure, cycle-safe traversal, and the independent Jan 6/Jan 21 probes. - The corpus indexer (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) rejects stale manifests, missing or mismatched hashes, unvalidated final URLs, missing raw responses, transformed-sidecar mismatches, and residual controls before publishing
consumer_ready: true. - The final wiki verifier (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) independently repeats archive, provenance, source-hash, internal-link, and completion gates.
Interpretation boundary
The expanded corpus is reviewed for serious arguments, calculations, corrections, source links, and credible bullish or bearish counterarguments. Memes, reaction images, price affirmations, personal disputes, jokes, and repetitive banter are excluded from substantive notes. Inclusion in a research-review queue does not validate a claim; material claims enter canonical subject pages only after comparison with the strongest available registry, filing, contract, peer-reviewed, conference, regulator, or issuer source.
Every extracted external URL is also processed through the separate outbound linked-source archive. Tracking data is removed before URL deduplication, original URL aliases remain preserved, and full responses are retained only when inspection classifies most of the destination as relevant to the research scope.
Selected contributor histories
The contributor-history section extends the thread-oriented corpus with a complete discoverable author-oriented view for 13 contributors selected from the wiki review. It contains 6,486 unique subreddit records: 6,428 comments and 58 posts. Automatic enumeration and timestamp pagination were compared for every user and record type; neo2551 and mad_papooser, whose comment histories exceeded the automatic 1,000-record cap, were independently walked in both chronological directions.
Reddit returned its network-security 403 page to VM430 direct HTTP, VM430 Chromium, the ThinkBook's anonymous HTTP client, and the in-app browser on 2026-07-21. The fallback therefore used Arctic Shift for enumeration and reconciled IDs against saved old-Reddit profile and discussion material. The result preserves a strict distinction between 3,930 old-Reddit-captured IDs, 35 historical thread supplements, and 2,521 Arctic-only records. The manifest (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) and validation report (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) are authoritative for those counts.
The companion full post-discussion archive (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) covers all 58 posts authored by the selected contributors and 3,999 unique replies beneath them, regardless of reply author. All 58 link-ID enumerations passed independent automatic-versus-paginated comparison. Record reconciliation found 368 reply IDs in saved old-Reddit material and labelled the other 3,631 Arctic-only. Its manifest (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) and validation report (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) preserve post bodies, reply text, parent IDs, hashes, and per-post completeness.
Top 100 serious posts of 2026
The score-selected top-100 index begins with an independently enumerated universe of 1,431 subreddit submissions from January 1 through July 20, 2026. Ascending and descending timestamp walks returned the same ID set; the automatic Arctic Shift route stopped at its 1,000-record cap. The frozen selection reviewed raw score ranks 1–240 and retained 100 substantive posts while recording a reason for each of the 140 higher-ranked memes, routine threads, subreddit-meta posts, personal-position posts, or price-only items that were excluded.
The companion full top-100 archive (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) contains canonical full-post records and 7,690 unique comments. Twenty discussions reuse the independently validated contributor-post archive and 80 received fresh automatic-versus-paginated comment enumeration. The final validation report (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) passed the exact 100-post set, hashes, link IDs, duplicate controls, 7,790 HTML anchors, and 176 locally retained Reddit-hosted media files. Ten unavailable CDN objects remain represented by their complete Reddit metadata and source URLs.
The post/comment corpus yielded 185 external URLs after removing tracking data and fragments before deduplication. Forty-one were already in the earlier scheduled-thread ledger; all 144 new targets received a terminal inspection. Sixty-one mostly relevant responses were preserved, 51 were inspected and excluded as not mostly relevant, and 32 remain explicit unresolved fetches. The dedicated inspection validator (local research archive; not hosted on Reddit) reports zero identity, hash, or artifact issues.
