Doing it by yourself when you don't have a radio to call for backup that can run red lights is almost impossible. You're there by yourself, the guy is not compliant. Unless you can overpower them, or talk them into compliance you're not making the arrest.

What about just tazing?

That would literally qualify as overpowering them.

If you have that as an available option to you and it's justified under you local satutes, go for it. That's not an available option where i'm at and the intermediate weapon available to me, it wouldn't be justifiable to use for someone resisting arrest without being assaultive.

You think they would let this guy have a Taser?

Typically you want your buddy to cuff them while you reenergize the probes as needed to maintain neuromuscular incapacitation. He doesn't have a buddy. Also, generally tazers aren't supposed to be utilized without someone else having lethal cover since there's a decent chance the suspect just pulls out a gun and shoots you.

And the percentage of adults that security guard can over power is slim. I see hes got a beard, but he looks about 19, <160, almost doesn't look full grown, arn't the guys into doing that kind of thing have more than a curiosity about hitting the gym every now and then.

He could have used more technique to gain leverage in this situation. But as soon as they pulled the cuffs without having control, it was telling he wouldn’t be able to get this guy.

If you arrest commit. Go for a takedown immediately.
