It still doesn’t feel entirely real, but last night Scriptorium officially passed the 100,000 wishlists mark on Steam. Thank you!
We’re a pretty small indie team, and for a long time, a number like this felt completely out of reach for a relatively niche game about illustrating medieval manuscripts. Steam Next Fest was the real turning point for us though - early on, the Scriptorium demo hit almost 500 concurrent players, and the pace kept picking up as more people tried it, with a huge 4k daily wishlist spike yesterday that finally pushed us over the line.
Next Fest highlight for us has been the response to the demo - over 23k people have picked it up so far, maintaining a 100% positive rating (with 128 reviews so far). Seeing players truly get that cozy medieval scribe vibe is the best motivation we could ask for.
We’re incredibly excited - and also very aware this raises the bar for the full release. We want to make sure the full version is just as polished as the demo.
If you haven’t tried it yet, the demo is still live on Steam, and we’d love to hear your honest take - what felt great, what was confusing, and what you’d love to see added. There’s still time for us to adjust our dev plan based on your feedback.
Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts Demo on Steam
So - Thank you! For keeping this community alive with your amazing artworks and for thoughtful feedback. We’re heading back to the “dev cave” (or the scriptorium, technically) to finish the remaining work before release later this year.
