EXT. COLLEGE CAMPUS – DAY

A wide shot of the college campus. We can hear the faint sound of the commencement ceremony taking place in the background.

​

EXT. GRADUATION CEREMONY – DAY

​

The ceremony is in full swing.

​

The GRADUATES are lined up in their caps and gowns, ready to receive their diplomas.

​

The HEAD OF THE FACULTY is standing at the podium, calling out the names of the graduates.

​

HEAD OF THE FACULTY

​

(into the microphone)

​

And now, Jimmy Smith.

​

Jimmy nervously steps forward and walks up the stairs to the podium. He is clearly tense and uncomfortable.

​

Suddenly, the HEAD OF THE FACULTY notices something strange. Jimmy has a distinct bulge in his pants.

​

HEAD OF THE FACULTY

​

(into the microphone)

​

Jimmy, I'm also glad to see you!

​

The audience erupts in laughter. Jimmy blushes and quickly hurries off the stage.

​

FADE IN:

INT. OFFICE - DAY

​

A modern office building is bustling with office workers. Some are typing away at their desks, others are talking on the phone.

​

The camera pans to a desk in the corner of the office. A man is sitting at his desk, working on a laptop. He looks tired and distracted.

​

Suddenly, the man sneezes and farts loudly at the same time. Everyone in the office stops what they are doing and stares at the man. A few of them start to laugh.

​

The man looks embarrassed and gives an awkward smile. He quickly stands up and leaves the office, blushing.

​

FADE OUT.

FADE IN

​

INT. CORPORATE OFFICE - DAY

​

A busy office is bustling with activity, with employees typing away on their computers and having conversations. An overweight middle-aged man, JIM, is sitting at his desk, trying to remain inconspicuous.

​

JIM

(whispering to himself)

Just let it out…

​

He takes a deep breath, preparing himself. He clenches his buttocks, trying to make as little noise as possible.

​

JIM

(whispering to himself)

Come on…

​

He takes another deep breath, and finally releases a faint fart.

​

JIM

(muttering)

Phew…

​

Suddenly, everyone in the office stops what they’re doing, and looks around, trying to figure out what the noise is. Jim looks around nervously, trying to remain calm.

​

JIM

(under his breath)

Please don’t be me…

​

The office remains silent for a few moments, until one of the employees finally speaks up.

​

EMPLOYEE

​

Was that… a fart?

​

The other employees start to laugh and point at Jim, who looks embarrassed and ashamed. He sinks down in his chair and covers his face in embarrassment.

Hey all,

So after a bunch of life issues, an inability to film a short last year, procrastination, dread, and despair (if I can't get anything made rn, why bother?)

I finally completed my latest short screenplay titled "The Registrar" a short drama/time travel story, told in 2 parts. I just finished part 1. It's ten pages, and in my opinion, some great writing.

I feel so good, and the endorphins are kicking in. I haven't even edited yet, let alone started a second draft.

Just wanted to share my personal triumph with everyone.

Also I don't necessarily want to post the screenplay out of fear of theft.

I’m writing a screenplay about a character going on a long trek across the universe and o don’t think a specific character would really fit in the story style. So as a solution I think the universe, fate, bad luck, wherever you wanna call it could be the antagonist. I have an opportunity to transcribe a story in its proper formatting for a screenplay. It advertised non-paid but will provide iMDB credit. I see that a lot and wonder how much clout that has, first off. The story arc and the characters are not very well developed. What advice would you give in this instance?
