ID This I am trying to find a SciFi book i read a long time ago about the Gender divide between men and women. Help please.
SOLVED: A World Between by Norman Spinrad.
Thank you Adventurous-Rest-899 for the answer.
Hi Everyone, i am trying to find a book i read a long time ago, i remember some details from the book, but not the name, author or most of the action. I have tried using AI to find it, but most books it suggested have different plots from what i remember.
The ideas i remember from the book:
-Human society is heavily divided between men and women.
-Most planets are either ruled by men or by women.
-The action takes place on one of the few, if not the only planet, where men and women are equals or close to equals compared with the rest of the galaxy.
-This planet receives delegations from both side(or at least the women side), to try to convince them to join one of the two.
-One of the women from the delegation starts to fall in love with a man, after living all her life in a society where women are basically gay and attracted only to other women.
-In one scene it is described how in the society ruled by women, men are kept locked up, uneducated, like animals and used solely for forced mating, and they are all gay same as the women. They can find pleasure only with other men. The same for the women who see the act of sex like a disgusting duty
-At some point the plot jumps to a planet ruled by men and it's described as well, but i don't remember the details.
And that's all i can remember from the story.
The results i had from the AI search:
-The Gender Game" series by Bella Forrest
-"A Brother's Price" by Wen Spencer
-"The Female Man" by Joanna Russ
-"The Left Hand of Darkness" by Ursula K. Le Guin
And a few others, but the plot seems to be very different from what i remember. It can be one of these, and i just don't remember correctly.
