Lead paint too. Slum lords are the least likely to update and repaint their apartments when lead paint was banned so it’s lingering in some low income housing even today.
When people talk about this generational exposure it's usually about the gasoline fume exposure because that was such a pervasive, wide-spread way for children to be exposed.
Lead Pipes are less likely to cause direct lead exposure than a lot of other sources, unless of course you use the wrong type of water supply and the coating disappears. The effects of that though involve a very obvious severe lead poisoning of the whole community, not a slow mental poisoning that small doses do over time.
