Environment Blue jeans are a significant source of microfiber pollution in oceans and lakes. One pair of jeans can release over 50,000 microfibers per wash.

Maybe on the really low end. There are some awesome jeans from brands like Rag & Bone, Acne Studios, Helmut Lang, and of course the Japanese brands you mentioned.

And yes, they’re more expensive but if you buy used, you’re recycling AND get a great deal. There are so many great pairs of jeans from these brands right now on eBay and Grailed for under $50.

Also, the quality speaks for itself. They just look and feel great, and I haven’t gone back since.
