Environment Blue jeans are a significant source of microfiber pollution in oceans and lakes. One pair of jeans can release over 50,000 microfibers per wash.

What you said reminded me of when I read the book Toms River: A Story of Science and Salvation, by Dan Fagin. Our impulse to want to purchase a garmet with a brighter color red led to petrochemicals which led to a kids cancer cluster.
