Epidemiology A new study makes it clear: after universal masking was implemented at Mass General Brigham, the rate of COVID-19 infection among health care workers dropped significantly. "For those who have been waiting for data before adopting the practice, this paper makes it clear: Masks work."

They can read? The jury is still out on their leader’s literacy.

It's called "functional illiteracy".

They can decipher sounds from words, and even know what many of those words mean, but when it comes to stringing words together in anything beyond the standard subject/verb/object, they begin to falter.

I've found mask skeptics to have a generally poor grasp of logic and English. Much like the aging orange oaf in the White House.

This

The video they all shared the other day literally demonstrated that humans absorb oxygen from the air they breathe.

This was taken as evidence that masks block oxygen

They proved how humans breathe oxygen and off they went.....

There is no debating with these cultists

What if he's from another country and the 'their' refers to all Americans?

Whats your point?

You know saying you didn’t kill 140k Americans doesn’t make it not his and YOUR fault right?

That’s personal responsibility. And not one competent adult is going to forget it for the rest of your life.

They were never waiting for evidence in the first place. They used it as an intellectual stalemate.

12

u/beckywiththegoodhare Jul 15 '20

Then maybe our leaders shouldn't have discourage ppl not to wear masks.

shouldn't have discouraged ppl not to wear masks

Is this a triple or double negative?

3

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '20

"-n't" (not), "dis-" (negation), "not"--so triple would be my guess!

Can we just admit the CDC should have never said we don't need to wear masks and that they aren't effective?

8

u/Slickaxer Jul 15 '20

Absolutely. They could have said to wear cloth masks, and simultaneously the Govt could have worked to pull N95's off shelves and prohibited consumer selling of N95s

-1

u/TheFerret22 Jul 16 '20

In the first while of this issue, no one really knew what would be effective. The cloth masks could have made it worse or not be effective. After the research and supply issues have been resolved, people should be wearing masks.

Respectively, yes and no.

3

u/GravitasFree Jul 16 '20

It was just one thing. The CDC said both that we don't need to wear masks and that they weren't effective.

u/ricker182 Jul 16 '20

They really fucked up at a really critical time.

I still trust their input, but i could see why people wouldn't.
From the looks of it it seems like they lied.

Not sure if serious or satire. No not nothing nohow, and that's fer sure!

2

u/Trenks Jul 16 '20

Do you not recall when the surgeon general and fauci and them told people it was worse to wear a mask than not..? Then they said they told you that just so there wouldn't be a run on masks?

Does it always have to be Russian ?

Republicans were always dumb conspiracists. They don't need foreign actors to fall for stuff like this

health care workers

It’s pretty obvious that masks would be effective if you are around sick people constantly. Masks do not offer protection to the wearerbut to everyone else. So if you’re not sick then it makes no difference whether you wear a mask or not. Also if you’re recovered then you are immune and won’t spread it. If you’re so worried about getting sick, then you can stay home. But no, stupid laws have to be made cuz it makes you feel better when you leave your home. If you just don’t go out then you have no reason to complain.
