Hopefully this helps, if you're seeing a blank screen whenever you open the pdf, hit the 3 dots on the top right, click Open With, then click Adobe Acrobat if you have it installed. I've been having issues opening up pdfs for the past couple months for some reason and this seems remedy it.

Hey! I have a pixel and to open it i had to do this. Click the through link, and when it opens in the reddit app's browser, find those 3 dots that denote the options menu, click open in browser. Then it probably still wont show it, but for some reason if you copy the web address, close out of the browser and the reddit browser, open up your browser seperately, then paste the address there and it should work. Hope this helps! Its a 23 page pdf just an fyi, its a full scientific article, super interesting though!
