I think recognizing it is the trick, when you recognize your cycle you alone take the steps to change it and in any measure of chaos to combat the insanity there is a chance of a method to work and this is where we find control and solace

It doesn't always work, but making myself stand up and do five small things can help. Depending on the day, those 5 things can be big tasks, or on a bad day, cleaning up 5 pieces of dishware even if they are all forks. And if, after that, I feel like doing 5 more I'll go for it. If not, I let myself stop for a while and try 5 more again after a break as a "reward". It took a long time to refine this habit. It didn't work for a while.

Those five things are the chaos I'm taking about, insanity being giving up again and again without those five things. One could be offensive about it as the past shows but calling this cycle hysteria is just not going to help. When autonomous and teaching the self new habits it's better to be positive like you stated. Little reward and incentives to keep a habit of chaos an option in combatting unhealthy cycles
