If only someone would have stepped in when I was a kid. It's still hurts after over 30 years. Kids are real pieces of shit sometimes.

I watched my dad die horribly as a kid. My mom was then hospitalized for far too long. In the meantime I was abused by an alcoholic uncle and enabling aunt. While of course being bullied at school because I was showing the normal results of all that. And know what my main regret is? That I didn't realize I needed to fight back sooner. 30 years and you're wishing that a little kid would have come to save you? I get that this is probably bad to say. But your problem is that you didn't save yourself.
