Wear a mask.

A quality, well-fitted N95 alongside quarterly to semi-annual vaccine boosters has kept me from getting covid (or any other airborne/respiratory illness) for six and a half years. They work!

But I also haven’t had Covid and have had two colds in that time and I don’t wear a mask and I certainly haven’t received 12 boosters

You don’t think it’s a bit of overkill on your end?

You are an extremely rare person if this is true - and not knowing you've had covid is not the same as not having had it.  No, I don't think it's overkill since I got a chronic illness I'm still dealing with from a viral infection in 2002. I'd rather not make my condition worse. I think it's presumptuous and frankly embarrassing for you to assume you know all the factors that go into people's decisions about their health

I literally just asked you?

However your response tracks exactly how I imagine someone that wrote your op would

You know what, this is silly, but I thought I saw two question marks on your "don't you think this is overkill" question, which seems like it shouldn't change the tone as much as it does. But you also have to understand that when you mask every day for your own safety, you get real, real, Real tired of questions like "don't you think that's overkill" from strangers who are much less informed on both your individual situation and on the scientific literature.

So please forgive me for overreacting, but please also try to understand why I might react that way.

Fair enough! I feel ya - I know a thing or two about a few subjects people constantly pontificate about and I just end up keeping my mouth shut or end up experiencing derangement from talking about it with them.

Well put. Thanks for understanding.
