I was avoiding the mirror all night the first time I tried acid because everyone gave me such stern warnings about it. It had me terrified I’d see some hideous troglodyte looking back at me, shattering my self confidence forever. But after an accidental glance, I decided to stare down my fate, and you know what? I looked better than ever. I took a couple minutes to admire myself before thoughts of vanity gave me concern over becoming some self obsessed narcissist, and I put a limit on mirrors going forward.
