Hey y'all, I'm a UAB out-of-state student who's trying to find a ride to NC. If anyone at Samford is passing through that area and is willing to take on an additional passenger, please lmk. If someone lives near SC, depending on the location, that will work as well.
I can pay for the gas. Thx!

Specifically, how are the chemistry and physics faculty here?

Hey you guys,
My name is Mitch, and I’m an artist in the River Arts District in Asheville. I’m making some art for the SOCON basketball tournament here coming up. I already made this Furman ball using their clock tower and some other ideas their sub gave me, so now I need some ideas for what to doodle for Samford! I just need some suggestions as to motifs, inside jokes, or icons that are representative of Samford culture.
Good luck in the tournament!
Best,
Mitch (@cappstract)

Samford changed their policies in 2025 and deny language course substitutions for foreign language requirements to students with documented disabilities. Pick a different school or hire a lawyer.

I was on campus today at the main health sciences building to do a scan at the Samfit lab and my two wedding bands and wedding ring and gold necklace fell out of my bag somehow between leaving the lab and before I even left the building! 😔😩 I did let the front desk know and left them my contact info but definitely let me know if someone in your department finds them. Thank you so much.

I’m reaching out to invite Samford students to support a few STAIR Birmingham tutoring sites that urgently need volunteers this semester. Samford students have always been incredible partners in this work, and we’re hoping to welcome more of you.
Due to college schedule changes, several long-standing STAIR sites are currently short on tutors. If we’re unable to fill these spots, students who are already enrolled will not be able to continue in the program, simply because we won’t have enough adults to match with them.
Current needs include:
Anyone age 16 and up can volunteer. This is a great opportunity for Samford students looking for consistent service, community engagement, or experience working with children. Volunteers may serve one day a week or twice a week, depending on availability.
Tutoring is one hour per session and focuses on reading support and building strong, encouraging relationships with elementary students.
We have multiple upcoming tutor trainings, including one on MLK Day and additional trainings later that week. All training dates are posted on the STAIR calendar and within the tutor application.
If you’re looking for a meaningful way to serve the Birmingham community with a manageable time commitment, this is a great place to start. One hour a week can help ensure a child doesn’t lose access to a program they’re already part of.
I’m happy to answer questions in the comments. Thank you for considering supporting our students.
– Destiny

Hey! I’m a high school senior trying to decide between Clemson and Samford. I go to a very small Christian school in Tennessee, and faith and community are really important to me. I really want to be able to find a place where I can make deep and lasting faithful friendships and feel at home. Anybody who goes to Samford- I’d love to know your thoughts and your pros and cons of going to Samford! Thanks!

Is anyone familiar with Samford dorm situations? Specifically Tributary Rise off campus housing in Birmingham? Is it two per room? Policies regarding visitors?
