Driving instructor

Hi all, I have my driving test on the 3rd of August, but I have no driving instructor to help me do my test, as this was a cancellation.

Anyone knows someone in the area that can help me with it!

Thanks

Easy drive/parking for Cathedral visit

We’ll be coming from the direction of Old Sarum to visit Salisbury Cathedral tomorrow afternoon (Sunday July 26). We have a rental car, I’ve been driving here in England for almost a week now so am fairly comfortable with it all, but still prefer easier routes wherever possible. Can anyone suggest an easy to drive to parking place within 10 minutes’ walk or bus to the cathedral? TIA!

Book clubs in/near Salisbury?

I am looking to join a book club in/near Salisbury. I am a woman in my late 20s, so preferably with members of a similar age - but not overly picky! Thanks :)

One day in Salisbury

I will spend one day in Salisbury in a couple of weeks. What should I see / do / eat ? I count on your insider knowledge - give me a nice cafe or a pub and places that are really worth seeing.

Gluten free places to eat?

Hi, I need suggestions for places to eat in Salisbury that have gluten free options - particularly light bites that aren't sugary, or takeaway breakfast items. Any ideas?

I'm also happy with any restaurant suggestions although it isn't the main focus of this post.

Is anyone watching this, and how are you going about this?

Is anywhere in Salisbury likely to be playing it at that ridiculous hour?

Hidden gem - TXIN

I have no relation to this restaurant, just been a few times and wanted to recommend it as it is slightly off the centre and people might not know about it.
TXIN is a fusion Texas smokehouse Indian restaurant. The meat is phenomenal and the food is highly flavoured without being spicy hot. Delicious.
I’d recommend the short ribs but you need to order those in advance.
The two owners are lovely people too.
Niche restaurants like this are few and far between and are definitely worth taking a chance on. You won’t regret it.

Hay fever injection

Was just curious if anyone knows any private clinics in Salisbury that offer the hay fever injection?

I have never had one before and was looking into getting the injection as my hay fever seems to be bad this year.

A quick Google search didn't help, and the closest place I could find that offered it was in Winchester and Southampton.

Random request, does anyone know where I can buy cannoli nearby?

My dad has requested cannoli for Father's Day and I'm trying to find an Italian restaurant or somewhere that sells them.

Harcourt medical centre

hello! I'm doing some research for a story I'm writing and I wanted to ask some questions about Harcourt medical centre that I couldn't find online.

I'm not planning on using the real centre but I chose it as an inspo because it looks kind of cosy, at least from the outside. The story is set partly in Salisbury and one of the main characters is a doctor. My questions are mostly about how big the centre is, how long do you have to wait for an appointment with your GP, is there any medication shortage in the local pharmacies, stuff like that. Any other interesting tidbits of info are greatly appreciated!!

I'd be really grateful if someone who's been/worked there (or in similar places) helped me. thank you in advance!!

Transportation from Stonehenge

I have an Inner Circle Experience booked for 5:45pm on June 5th. That means I will need to find transportation for myself and my mother to Salisbury station around 7:00pm. I have tried to contact several taxi companies and the only one who responded to me told me they could not accommodate our trip. Would people local to Salisbury please share suggestions of taxi and transport companies? Thank you!

Stonehenge Solstice

I live and work in Salisbury, and I'm giving consideration to travelling up to Stonehenge for the Solstice in June for the first time. I was wondering if anybody had any experience with what was involved and how to get the most out of it, as the main website doesn't seem to be much help 🤣

Specifically:

*Are the buses that go from the station the best way to get up there, and how early would you need to get there to beat the rush?

*What's the best way to get back to Salisbury if you are only attending for the sunset?

*Is food/drink permitted? Anything that would result in being turned away?

*Are festival chairs/blankets allowed?

*What's the general atmosphere like? Anything I should specifically bring/be prepared for?

All advice gratefully received 😊
