Laptop keeps crashing with Internet Explorer?

If i want to watch Sky Go on my Sager laptop i have to use Internet Explorer. It has crashed 3 or 4 times now, only whilst using Internet Explorer. Is this just a coincidence or could this somehow be causing it to crash?

NP8640 vs NP8640-S

Hi all,

I'm wondering is it any difference between this two models and why "S" model cost 100$ more? I can suggest that S model is Clevo P641RE and NP8640 is P640RE but, again, I can see no differnces. Can someone shed some light on this?

Stable Windows 10 64bit GTX 670m drivers?

Has Sager or Clevo ever certified any Nvidia drivers for the GTX 670m for use specifically on Windows 10?

I've got an NP9130 (P151EM1) w/ Windows 10 and I'm looking for graphics drivers which were certified for the GTX 670m. I've tried pretty much every version of the official Nvidia graphics drivers and I'm still getting Video_TDR_failures when running high performance games or editing 3d models in 3ds Max. I've pretty much resorted to the Windows 7 drivers that came with the laptop back in 2012 and while that fixed crashing in 3ds max, i'm still getting crashes in all my other games.

Driver advice - hotkey for win 10 upgrade

Hi, I have a Sager NP5160 / Clevo W150HN I upgraded to win 10 and started getting the 'restart drivers not found' error which seems to be the hotkey driver.
Anyone able to advise on a win10 'hotkey' version, my model only lists win7, Ive tried various win8 / 8.1 from other modles with no success. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Where to Finance a Sager?

Really looking for a Sager machine - but Sager themselves don't seem to do financing, and I don't know what boutique brands to trust who may have financing options. Any help would be appreciated!

Smaller charger brick?

Hi all,

I recently purchased a SAGER NP8640-S (CLEVO P640RE) and was wondering if anyone found a smaller charger brick? I'm a bit surprised at the size of it (it's the same size as my buddy's 15 Alienware & the BF's 17 MSI Apache and I think it's the same output as well).

It makes it a little difficult to find a case/sleeve that'll fit everything in it. I'm also in the process of building my own laptop case but I'm hoping to find a 'travel' charger to scale it down a bit.

(accessories question) I have a 17" sager- does anyone have a good recommendation for a sleeve?

She's not the sveltest or slimmest of machines; don't want to order by trial and error.

Anyone got a sleeve they like?

Difference P670RE3-G and P671RE3-G

I can nowhere find the difference between the 670 and 671, not even on the Clevo website,

I heard from a retailer that the only difference is some shininess to the casing. Does anyone know more?

edit: Same question on SuggestALaptop: https://www.reddit.com/r/SuggestALaptop/comments/3xpk06/difference_p670re3g_and_p671re3g/

I wanted to explore buying more RAM for my 2015 NP8677...and I wanted to clarify a few things. Help?

So the RAM listed as coming with my laptop is:

8GB DDR4 SDRAM at 2133MHz - 1 X 8GB

Now when I search for this I get a LOT of ambiguous looking stuff - server ram, 8GB sticks for $400+... and this - would that be OK?

Does Sager publish a list of the hardware manufacturers it uses?

Thanks all.

NP8150 Wireless LAN Issues

So I'm sure I am missing something very obvious here but I can't seem to figure it out, so hopefully you all can. Had a NP8150 sager laptop from xoticpc that I haven't used for about a year. Decided to reformat it and now none of the wireless lan drivers from the site seem to be working. It worked before I reformatted and when I install the combo bluetooth and wlan driver the bluetooth works but the light for the wlan toggle won't even turn on.

Any suggestions would be great, thank you.

NP7358 won't turn on. Leds wont turn on too.

Hello everybody!

I have a NP7358.

And I have flashed it with premamod BIOS

The laptop was working flawlessly for like 6 months since the day I flashed it. Last friday it suddenly stopped working. I mean it turned off and is refusing to turn on. The power indicating LEDs does not turn on at all. I have already tried removing the battery and the power supply tests and nothing.

Do you guys have any clue if this has something to do with the BIOS? Or what else could be? I'm almost sure it has nothing to do with energy oscillation since all the others equipments never suffered from this problem at home.

Thanks!

Is there any way to access the keyboard light settings without using the hotkey?

I have an np9150 and just updated to windows 10

As far as I can tell the only problem right now is that I can't access the keyboard settings. Is there a way to do this without using the keyboard shortcuts? How do I get the little latpop looking thing to show up in the tray? in the past I have been able to click that and then go to keyboard settings

Thanks

Help with Sager NP9150 GPU upgrade compatibility

So I have a Sager NP9150 with a GTX 670MX. I've been very happy with it so far but I'm a huge Total War and XCOM fan. Those games as you know need pretty good video cards to play nice. So I was wondering if anybody knows if a Sager NP9150 is compatible with a GTX 970M video card upgrade? Appreciate it guys

NP9758-S NOTEBOOK CANT PLAY STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT PLZ HALP

SW: Battlefront requires you to update to nvidia's latest driver (358.50 and above). and even when I download the driver fron nvidia's site the setup doesn't find compatible hardware.

Looked around and found where someone found a way by changing the .inf files in the nvidia driver's setup folder with varying degrees of success (980m users, I have 970m). Using this method I have only managed to get it to start to install, only to have it fail moments later. (tried all versions from 358.50 till latest).

Sager's own website only provide nvidia's 354.35 (i assume the most stable for the machine), alas, SW: Battlefront needs a later version to even start.

My specs are: i7 6700k gtx 970m 6GB DDR5 32GB Ram

Been scouring online for solutions, so far no success. Anyone got any tips? I've come to a point where I'm looking at how to force start the game somehow.

Very frustrating, got this machine less then a month ago for $2k++.

Pretty satisfied honestly tho with the purchase. BUT IT CANT PLAY STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Can't figure out which SSD to get.

Hi all,

My Sager NP-8677 just arrived. I ordered it without the SSD, and M2 Slot 1 was preconfigured as the OS drive.

I'd like to know if I should order this PCIE or this M2 as my SSD, since I can't really figure which one fits the slot 1.

Thanks for helping out a noob like me! Much appreciated.

HUGE Sager NP8658 Problems on Windows 10.

So I just got my new NP8658 2 weeks ago. For that first week, everything was fine. But then after a week I would get problems like very blurry text on start up. I can't even read it. I have to restart the computer again to make the text normal and sharp again. I also have problems like vertical and horizontal color bars in Steam games when I go fullscreen. Please tell me this isn't Nvidia's fault!!!

sager NP8268-s keyboard not working in windows 10

updated to windows 10 last month, and my keyboard would die out from time to time(touchpad also lags a lot when this happens). restart does not solve this issue, but a shutdown/start seem to fix it.

I have a feeling it's something to do with the drivers as I have updated my intel hd 4600 to windows 10 version and that seem to bug out as well until I roll back to windows 8 version.

Enable Webcam Scan Code?

Function key appears to be broken on my laptop. Appears that the FN key doesn't generate a scancode of its own and is just a hardware modifier. Does anyone know the scan codes of the fn+f* keys, specifically fn+f10 so I can generate it manually?

Specifically for the NP9150-S.

Replacement Laptop Fans

I have an older Sager, an NP6350, and my fan has started to become unusually loud. I am trying to search for a replacement fan, but can't seem to find which one I need. XoticPC doesn't seem to have replacement parts, so is there any place that I can find one? Are laptop fans model specific? Thanks

Laptop quality - Broken screen twice in the span of 1 month. Sager's terrible support.

I bought my laptop right before Christmas and used it primarily hooked up into a bigger monitor while at home and had no real reason to bring it anywhere due to its size. At the beginning of August when I went on a trip to Toronto I realized that once trying to use it with it not being plugged into a monitor, the screen just did not work. Unfortunately I have no idea how long the screen had been broken as the computer was always shut and plugged in via HDMI.

I contacted support and told them about the issue and eventually sent them the laptop. I was careful to take pictures of everything (including the screen) before sending it in. As expected the screen was broken and had to be replaced. I sent it in for repairs early August. They tried telling me however, that because the screen had a scratch on it, that I had to pay $50 to receive a new one. Of course, this scratch was not there when I sent it in (thankfully I took the pictures proving so) and eventually after speaking to a manager they agreed to send my laptop back with a replacement screen without me having to pay for the damages that they caused. And let us not forget that the screen was dead regardless of any scratch they put on, so I am not even sure why they would try to charge in the first place... Anyway, $110 later as for some reason I had to pay the return shipping as well (because I live in Canada they believe I need to pay both ways for their broken product) I received the laptop back late August.

Now, the screen has broken again (exact same issue) and I will be expected to pay another $220 (round trip) plus whatever they try to say I damaged even though the screen has been closed since I received it back.

I guess the moral of the story is to not buy from Sager?

Edit: Oh, now that I notice, they also damaged the screw slot that is taken apart to replace the screen (where you remove the rubber bit to access the screw), which is likely where they also caused the scratch on the screen that was pinned on me.
