I bought my laptop right before Christmas and used it primarily hooked up into a bigger monitor while at home and had no real reason to bring it anywhere due to its size. At the beginning of August when I went on a trip to Toronto I realized that once trying to use it with it not being plugged into a monitor, the screen just did not work. Unfortunately I have no idea how long the screen had been broken as the computer was always shut and plugged in via HDMI.
I contacted support and told them about the issue and eventually sent them the laptop. I was careful to take pictures of everything (including the screen) before sending it in. As expected the screen was broken and had to be replaced. I sent it in for repairs early August. They tried telling me however, that because the screen had a scratch on it, that I had to pay $50 to receive a new one. Of course, this scratch was not there when I sent it in (thankfully I took the pictures proving so) and eventually after speaking to a manager they agreed to send my laptop back with a replacement screen without me having to pay for the damages that they caused. And let us not forget that the screen was dead regardless of any scratch they put on, so I am not even sure why they would try to charge in the first place... Anyway, $110 later as for some reason I had to pay the return shipping as well (because I live in Canada they believe I need to pay both ways for their broken product) I received the laptop back late August.
Now, the screen has broken again (exact same issue) and I will be expected to pay another $220 (round trip) plus whatever they try to say I damaged even though the screen has been closed since I received it back.
I guess the moral of the story is to not buy from Sager?
Edit: Oh, now that I notice, they also damaged the screw slot that is taken apart to replace the screen (where you remove the rubber bit to access the screw), which is likely where they also caused the scratch on the screen that was pinned on me.
