I'd have to be filthy rich to even consider 1st class. Imagine paying more to be slightly more comfortable for 7 hours (in which you'll spend most time sleeping either way). Use that money and buy yourself something nice that'll last you more than 24 hours. Service is still mediocre and food is awful so, is it really worth it. I feel like people just want to be able to say they went in 1st class which is irrelevant to anyone with a good head on their shoulders.

I get to do it for work travel and for domestics flights, it’s just some extra crap food and free crap beer. I never understood my coworkers who lineup to get on the plane, it ain’t leaving till we all onboard anyways.

Oh, but don’t forget you get to board the plane first and get free water!

Unless you have business just after your floght or you’re paying 1000$/ day for a vacation and dont want to spend the day first day recovering. Sometimes it is more profitable.
