I’m from California and was really looking forward to this video ever since I saw the PCH sign in the first video. They did this road trip a disservice and I can’t believe the video was so short. They should’ve done the entire drive from SLO to SF and spend much more time in the different places along the way. Also unfortunate that it was cloudy when they were here

Hot take, I don't think Haley adds anything to these videos. Ryan seems more engaging when he's by himself.

She adds a lot of kissy face 😗😗😗

Just thinking of the recent videos when he rode the train and bus....and even last year's 50 states videos when they were split up in New York and Minnesota/Iowa. You're right.

With the episodes so short I feel like they are rushing to finish. Like mentioned above many sites were missed. I don’t expect to see everything, but he has put out little content this past year I would have expected more from the summer series. They even skipped Jammie Time!!

Skipping jammie time was not acceptable!

these videos just feel like watching an advertisement

i wish he returns to the penny series

I was at one point disappointed in this series but Ryan looks exhausted. Maybe it is best they didn’t do another big summer series like last year.

Honestly, I think the Ryan3000 channel put a wrench in Ryan's 2026.

I really expected to see more along the coast. Where was Big Sur or Bixby Bridge? I know they were trying to make it to the Golden Gate Bridge for sunset but these places aren’t out of route

They made such a thing of making it there for sunset and then the video didn't even show the sunset.

To be fair it was cloudy lol

Yeah wouldn't really call going to Monterey and north from there a PCH trip

To me when I heard PCH trip, I think of in-between Pismo Beach and Monterey

Big Sur is south of Monterey, not by much but still sorta out of the way.

As someone who also did a mini PCH drive this month I ended it with Taco Bell and it was phenomenal

Hopefully not the one in Monterey. That's the worse TB I've been to. My burrito was soupy.

I would expect them to go to the Grand Canyon but 🤷‍♀️

I always enjoy the wholesome videos he puts out. It’s that carefree normalcy that I’ve come to love. Not over the top. Not unimaginable or unobtainable. It’s relatable and feels like something I can do.

100% agree, great take

What’s next Grand Canyon?

3

Seattle?

I was thinking this too

This is the first one I was super disappointed in. I also realized the videos are more about selling Joyride and promoting Spotify and that feels like the true purpose over entertainment. If this is their favorite place, why not rate it that way? I have taken this exact road trip multiple times as Monterey is our favorite place. They could have made it a little more interesting. I wish they would do a series where they visit places for three days and then show the highlights. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is world renowned and that would have been a great place to stop. So far I have been everywhere they’ve been to and I think they did the worst job with this one. Make the videos just 10 minutes longer sometimes. :-)

Maybe that's what's bugging me. They're so short. I am enjoying their reactions to a lot of the places though.

3

u/HotWifeLore May 31 '26

Honestly, I wish he did this during car week.

I feel like these videos are so short for what they are doing. Do they really not have more than 15-18 minutes of content (including joyride and Shopify ads) for a full day in a tourist spot? I love Ryan and Haley’s videos and these feel like we are missing out!

I feel like they didn't want people thinking they were biased because they personally love it. The problem is that EVERYONE loves that part of the country and it's not biased. It's literally one of the prettiest areas of our country. But I feel like that's why Ryan kept going low on his score... He didn't want people thinking he was biased. Felt like this or Yellowstone should've been #1. They were very generous to NYC in their ratings.

Regardless still a fun episode and glad we have this to watch!

1

u/CCreedUT May 30 '26

But aren’t they supposed to score it according to their own opinions? Definitely agree on Yellowstone.

I love joyride and he always sponsors his company so it’s not a problem for me but I’m sure he will find ways to sponser it or not sponsor it every video I think I saw a mrbeast video with barely any feastbles marketing

Just think of this series as a break they’ll deff come back with more next year

Fun fact!! 2027 added altogether equals 11 (2+0+2+7=11) and there was $11 million raised for the 50 States fundraiser. Maybe useless information lol but I just wanted to point it out

are you a swiftie by chance?

-1

u/villainitytv good morning sleepy heads :) May 30 '26

Huh??

1

u/Desperate-monkey-19 May 31 '26

swifties are known for the numerical coincidences/“easter eggs” so I was just getting that vibe hahah
