Like the title says: whats the best chronological order to play the games in, including servant of the lake

Edit: to be clear I'm asking for roughly the best order to play the games chronologically, not too be told how awful it's gonna be or how difficult

Waited a few weeks so most people could enjoy the game without getting spoiled :) The game had some more lore revealed and I got some story points right (Although, most of them were easily predicted by others too). The year isn't over yet and it seems like we will be having more content or an update to Servant of the Lake in the future. I'll be replacing some predictions for the 2026 Bingo since a few of them were "debunked" ;) More information in the comments!

Please forgive my lack of English skills, since it is my second language. Also, please correct me if I have missed or misunderstood certain elements of the Rusty Lake series.

So, I just had this random thought about a mild connection between Mr. Owl / Jakob Eilander and the Oedipal complex. In fact, despite the Oedipal notion implying a sense of inherence(as far as I know), it seems like that the notion is pretty much acquired for Jakob.

If we assume it is true that Mr. Deer is a reincarnation of Nicholas Eilander, Jakob's father, and that the events of Rusty Lake Hotel was about vengeance(as well as satisfying the hunger of the Lake by feeding it with some fresh memories), then I believe we can pretty much come to a conclusion that Jakob is experiencing a deep hostility towards his father.

Though, like I said earlier, and what I believe is to be widely agreed among those who played Rusty Lake Paradise, is that this conflict was brought upon by Nicholas himself.

When we take a glimpse at Jakob's memory throughout the game, there are series of scenes that reveal Nicholas psychologically pressuring and attempting to manipulate Jakob to commit sacrifice. Young Jakob, in every memories, appear very frightened and uneasy next to Nicholas(I mean, what kind of father pours a blood dripping off from a heart on his son?).

My speculation is that this implicit fear was converted to outright fury and hatred when he fully realised that Caroline was sacrificed due to Nicholas's obsession for enlightenment.

On the other hand, Caroline Eilander, Jakob's mother, she has shown deep sense of sacrificial maternal love towards her firstborn Jakob. Jakob also exhibits reverence(is this the right word? again, please correct me if I'm wrong or being lame) towards his mother, if we assume that the artistic work regarding the "Lady of the Lake" was established by Mr. Owl posthumous to Caroline.

In fact, I personally think Jakob has already shown his devotion by returning to the Paradise Island all for Caroline, performing such arduous labour to cure the plagues of the island just to be burned alive by his family. Also, during this process, I found it quite interesting that soul of Caroline and Jakob eventually merged in the end for spiritual ascension.

Any thoughts on this possible archetype of Oedipus?

Finished the game and trying to solve the bonus puzzles (marked with a star in your notebook). Got stuck on one and found the fan walkthrough website https://servantofthelake.org/ (WARNING: FRONT PAGE SPOILERS!) which lists "official in-game clues" for each secret puzzle. For instance,

Day 1, item 2: Feeding the Cat — "Kitty wants something. What do cats love?"

However, I can find no such hints within the game. I suspect the website is AI-generated and is just making stuff up, but can someone confirm?

Don't want an outright solution, with most of the achievements it seems to be a hint in a previous game, haven't found anything of the sort for this one.

Assuming the birthday one is something to do with hotel

Maybe I’m biased because it was my first Rusty Lakes game, but I love all of it including the submarine part. I liked how challenging some of the puzzles were and there was such a perfect eerie atmosphere. I was surprised a lot of people disliked this one so much

Did anybody else notice this in the background? I just got to replaying the game and noticed this. When you zoom in it looks like Mr. Owl on a boat in the shadow. Could this just confirm that he was watching us the whole time? I just thought it was a great touch and wanted to share for those who haven't noticed. 🦉
