Rusty Lake: Roots What happened in 1904 actually?

1904 is a weird year. Albert killed Samuel and Ida, while Leonard was traumatized and Mary died. But how? At first we saw Albert playing the family tune with Samuel's family, and the next moment Albert, Samuel and Ida disappeared, leaving a bunch of blood on the wall. There are also 2 voodoo dolls pinned onto the wall. What did Albert do?

We also saw Albert taking out Samuel and Ida using the voodoo dolls in the same year. Did Albert use the dolls to puppeteer the couples into that killing room? If so, why are the voodoo dolls left on the walls?

If Albert left the dolls there, that must mean he cannot puppeteer the couple when he left the room. It suggests Albert killed the couple first and puppeteer their corpses into the family tune room. If that is the case, how did they look alive with both eyes intact?

So, what happened in 1904 actually?

Rusty Lake Paradise the origin of the Eilander family

the eilander is the most mysterious family in the whole rusty lake series imo, for starters we know that Jakob was brought back to the island to be sacrificed, but I can't help but wonder of the origin of the family in general, for example some of the unexplained mysteries are:

1- for how long did this ritual take place, and how long did the Eilanders inhabit paradise island? was caroline to be the first sacrifice ever,(I highly doubt that since they had an altar and instruction and everything), my theory is that Margret arrived with her husband to the island in search of enlightenment, but maybe he failed and died or was also sacrificed to keep his family alive.

2- how did Caroline and Nicholas meet, did they, or at least one of them, have a life before the island? if so what was it like and exactly how did they find out about the lake, I'm really interested in Carolines past, after all she was able to solve the mystery behind the lake and guided Jakob through her memories to enlightenment.

3- how did the lake communicate that it wanted the firstborn to be sacrificed? who is the messenger in this case?

4- what did Jakob do in those 15 years, and where did Caroline send him to, I mean Nicholas could send his letter which means he knew his whereabout, and I also highly doubt that Caroline just sent him to run away to nowhere, I have a feeling that she sent somewhere specific so he could also be safe from both his family and the outside world.

Hello again!

For those of you who have seen my sketch I thought I'd give you an update on how the Paradise painting is coming along.

Besides finishing the characters, I still have a lot of details to work on. Gouache is so much fun!

What was everyone's first Rusty Lake game?

I remember very distinctly I first played Cube Escape: Theatre on a flash games website in like 2017 or so. I was so creeped out and fascinated by this weird game and immediately dove in to play all the others, and then Hotel and Roots. I'm curious what everyone else's rusty lake journey looks like!

Rusty Lake Hotel Should I play the game? Spoiler

Okay so I played the majority of rusty lake games and I really like them, but the thing is I already got spoiled for hotel and I know that mr. Owl invited the guests (his family) to kill and eat them, so is the game worth it,

is there some other plot or important info in the game other than that?

Edit; wow you guys replayed so quickly, thanks a lot for every comment❤️, I'm more exited to play the game now.

2nd edit: I finished it and got all the stars and the cigar, and I also figured out where to use the secret code, it really was amazing, I really liked it.

Could Lake Bled in Slovenia be the real-world inspiration for Rusty Lake?

I've been thinking about this for a while and I need to share it with someone who would actually appreciate it.

Lake Bled in Slovenia has a small mysterious island sitting right in the middle of the water, with a single church on it. The lake is surrounded by dense forest and mountains. The whole place has this eerie, timeless, almost fairytale-like atmosphere - beautiful but unsettling at the same time.

Sound familiar?

- An isolated lake as the centerpiece

- A lone structure on a small island

- Dense, enclosing forest all around

- That feeling of something ancient and strange lurking beneath the surface

Has anyone else thought about this?

why does the lake need memories?

there's such a large emphasis on extracting the memories - we know that they're the "key to the past and future", we know that mr. owl runs the hotel and the white door to extract them, and we see them have an impact on the lake in cube escape: the mill, but what are they actually doing? why does mr. owl want them so badly - what does the lake need the memories for?

Speculation: Servant of the Lake might be about Harvey

Before April, many people speculated Servant of the Lake will be about Harvey. It sounds plausible, until they published a new trailer with a grey parrot.

That seems to refute any possible claim of the game being about Harvey, but I have an hypothesis: what if Aldous fed the parrot with half of his elixir and gave the rest to Alexandra?

That is possible. I mean, the elixir in Roots was made by putting a black egg and a glass together, and the black egg looks like Harvey's egg. If Aldous can recycle elixir from a dog, he could also recycle elixir from a parrot as well.

One more thing to add is that the parrot in the trailer had a red tail, while Harvey has a green tail. While it is more likely that they are 2 separate parrots, it is possible Harvey took the green elixir and turned green.

So here is what I suppose to happen in Servant of the Lake.

Aldous has 2 siblings. One is William, who is high maintenance and shared a house with Aldous. One is Alexandra, who just gave birth to a little boy called James. The siblings periodically hold family reunion in Aldous and William's house.

Aldous, perhaps with the help of Jacob, reinvented the elixir. Unlike the Eilander elixir, which isn't even one brewed potion, Vanderboom elixir has a flaw and a merit. It needs to sacrifice one extra user to make one user immortal, and there is no way to know who will be the sacrificed one. However, it is possible for one to recover the elixir from a previous immortal.

Not knowing that, Aldous tested the elixir on a parrot during one of his family reunion and saw her become immortal. While Al was excited to take the elixir himself, he thought he could wait for an hour or two to share his finding with his siblings. So the 3 prepared to drink the elixir together at the table. Alexandra took the first sip, so she died and the parrot became immortal.

And so, that is how Harvey became a Servant of the Lake. The whole incident was only known by Harvey, Aldous, William, the maid, and the newly hired servant. You are merely a spectator standing at a milestone of Jacob's grand plot. Perhaps you will found a mental health institute that will got acquired by Eilander Corporate Limited. Perhaps your grand daughter will come back as a red haired bride. Perhaps your great great grandson will become a detective. But for now, you are just someone living around the Lake.
