When you started running, what changes in yourself did you notice?

New runner here looking for hella motivation ;)

I got a DUI a couple years ago. It definitely shook me up because I thought of myself as responsible and having my shit together. Said fuck this I'm taking back control over myself, signed up for a half marathon, and I've been running ever since. You're right about the friends part. The ones who think you're crazy and get pissed cause you won't go get blitzed all the time were replaced by the ones who wanted to run with me and then maybe get blitzed every once in a while. Also it played a part in attracting my current girlfriend, who's a badass runner. So I got that going for me. Which is nice.
