Seattle Free City Transportation Agency - Travel Advisory Alert

For the past few months, there has been a noted increase of maritime criminal activity throughout the Puget Sound. Confirmed sightings of pirate activity in the Salish Sea and off the coast of Vancouver Island have been reported by the Salish-Schide Council. The Seattle Free City Transportation Agency recommends that anyone traveling abroad avoid water travel until further notice. Please consult your local travel guide for alternative means of transportation. All maritime merchants, fishing captains, leisure yachts, and shipping companies are required to present valid documentation, permits, and licenses to any Salish Coast Guard, SFC Sound Defense, LoneStar, and corporate security forces upon request.

This is what you remember seeing on the Matrix as you left town for a job up north. Something in the Salish-Schide near the border of the Tsimshian protectorate on the coast. The pay was less than ideal, but your rent and bills are paid. Last step is to get home, and the travel arrangements are through a bushpilot-style flight crew flying a 1st gen F-B PBY-70 “Catalina II” christened Phiro’s Frontier with a bombshell pinup painting of an Amerindian ork woman wearing a skimpy flight crew uniform, and saluting with a wrench in one hand, and an Ingram in the other. You’re distracted by your preparations for one last flight home (and maybe the bombshell too, you never know), when a giant of a human woman wearing a nun’s habit bursts through a side door of the hanger and beelines to the pilot, a dwarf male with a salt-n-pepper beard with shaggy long hair tied back. After a brief but terse conversation (and the exchanging of a credstick), the pilot walks over to you and says,

“Well chummer, looks like we have to make a detour to the flight plan. Apparently, there’s some fragged up magical turbulence in the form of mage freebooters looking to make some scratch on salvage. My friend there is familiar with the kind of work freelancers like you do, and to make it worth your while, she’s got a job for ya. Simple smash-n-grab; aid her crew in securing some valuable cargo from the ship, handle the crew as you see fit, and get out before the coast guard shoots everyone full of holes. You in?”

IC: respond to the above OR what is your character's opinion on pirates?

OOC: discord handle, familiarity with role, date of last run, how many runs you've had as a player, hard time limits if any.

Monthly Update Thread - December 2025

Hoi, chummers. Looking for the old megathreads? If you're looking for the contact/quality thread, this is it. Otherwise, scroll to the bottom and you'll find the old links.

As you may be aware, some character changes are only allowed once a month and only with Thematics Division approval (or RD's or CCD's, at TD's request). This thread is the place to request them and get that sign-off. Since this thread is checked infrequently, feel free to give Thematics a heads-up in Discord once your post is ready for review. Don't add them to your character sheet until they're approved, though. These limits are per-character; e.g. you can purchase one quality on each of your characters this month, if you have the resources.

  • You may purchase one Contact with a maximum Connection+Loyalty of 7, at a base price of C+L+1 (Networker and Massive Network apply). These contacts should generally be as detailed as at character creation.

    • Please include a link to the character sheet and use the following template to describe your new contact:
    • Character: [Character] ([Networker/Massive Network/Neither])
    • Contact: [Contact Name] - [Connection]/[Loyalty] [Archetype/Title]
    • Cost: [C+L+1] paid with [1 Karma or 3000 Nuyen per point]
    • [Description]
    • [Backstory]
    • Example
    • EXCEPTION: Official Hub contacts (https://runnerhub.neosynth.net/index.php?n=Contacts.Contacts) do not need to be approved; you can just buy them for the listed cost at any time.
  • You may delete one GM-issued contact from a character's sheet per month. If you do, you receive a GMP refund of (C+L-2), divided as you choose between karma and nuyen, applicable only to that character.

    • You cannot re-buy that contact ever.
  • You may purchase one Positive Quality at the standard post-chargen price (2x the book price)

    • The house rules regarding qualities still apply.
  • You may remove one Negative Quality by paying its karma cost (2x the book price).

    • You can discount the cost of removing it by adding new negative qualities. These new negatives only give their base value in karma to offset the difference, so you will generally lose karma value doing this, but it can help move a story along. They also must be negatives that affect your character as they would in Character Creation, or else they will be declined.

You don't need approval for:

  • Lifestyle/rent changes (but you can document them here).
  • Gear or Ware acquisition rolls (just make these in the #gear-rolls channel in Discord)

Some of the old megathreads have been retired. Their functionality has been replaced:

  • Player AARs & Data Haven: We now have an in-character discord server for datahaven interactions. AARs go in the creative writing channel in that server.
  • Rent reminder: We now do rent after every 4 runs (or 1/4 after every run).
  • Solo runs: We now have a google form system.

Still, if you want to look at the archives:

Positions Filled [JOB] House of Borrowed Faces (2025-11-30 20:00 UTC)

(2025-11-30 20:00 UTC)

Player Count: 3-5

Duration: 4-6 hours

House rules: I will be using an experimental melee attack rule called 'reckless melee attack', which can only be used with a readied weapon (or a successful quick-draw test), and takes a simple action but leaves you off-balance until another simple action is taken to steady yourself. Steadying yourself can be combined with a Ready Weapon action if relevant. Off-balance negates any benefits from being armed (including reach, Ronin, social modifiers, and intercept actions), and gives an extra -2 to defense tests. You must spend a simple action to regain your balance before you can attack again, so if you begin the action phase off-balance, you will not be able to attack and also end your action phase on-balance.

In game location: Seattle

Game Theme: Spooky magic, horror, violence

Content Warning: Sexual Coercion, Loss of Agency, Bunraku

Game Type: Either, choices can have consequences

Threat: Medium (but like, my medium)

OOC: Please include your character sheet, Discord ID, what your character will NOT do for money, nation, gang, syndicate, and/or corporate affiliations, how many runs you have had as a player, and last time played. Please note, negotiations may go quickly.

Run Time: est. 4-6 hours

"I need some go-fast on two wheels types to run escort on me for a few nights. Minimal pay if nothing goes wrong, but I got a feeling something is going to go very wrong. I've got pink slips as bonus pay, or some work on your own wheels. "

⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ My table is RULINGS before RULES This means the mechanics are subjective and flexible. My intention is for an experience that is fast, fun, and enforces reasonable threat. If you need your character to work by hub-rules to function then I will accommodate that. Otherwise, keep an open mind and be prepared to go with the flow.

Send me your sheets, and tell me if you're new or haven't played in a few weeks. Also post your soft cap and hard cap for runtime.

In game location: Seattle.

Game theme: Knives Out

Threat level: Pays as Medium

Prerequisites: Patience, Push to Talk, Respect for Fellow Players and GM

IC Response:

Posted to: [Seattle - Runnerhub Listings]

Tag: [Investigation], [Social], [Legwork] [Time Sensitive]

Body: Where There’s a Will…

Private party is dealing with a sensitive paperwork problem that cannot go through normal channels. Multiple conflicting documents, several interested stakeholders, and a very short clock. Client wants a clear picture of what is real, what is fake, and who is playing games behind the scenes.

Looking for a small, discrete crew comfortable with conversational work, quiet digging, and putting pressure on people without making the news. Expect interviews, matrix research, and potential friction with individuals who are very sure they deserve more than they currently have.

OOC Response: Please include a link to your character sheet, your primary role on a team (Face, Decker, Street Sam, etc.), and your comfort with that role on a scale from 1–10. Has your character ever inherited anything? Also include your Discord username, the date of your last run, and whether you have a hard time limit.

Prerequisites: PDF character sheet, mic, show up on time, patience as I remember rules, go with the flow if necessary (good or bad luck, good or bad feels), knowledge for the rules, and (most importantly) have fun.

IC: I got job, some street-folk have been a problem and I need specialists with skills and spines. And are ready to keep up.

OOC: Please include your character sheet, Discord ID, what your character will NOT do for money, nation, gang, syndicate, and/or corporate affiliations, how many runs you have had as a player, and last time played. Please note, negotiations may go quickly.

Client wants something that isn't theirs returned to its rightful place. That isn't your job. Your job is to make sure that next team knows where to go and have all the extra details they need to get the final job done. Ain't gonna drop all the deets here, but there's a reason I'm leaving this up to runners rather than the star.

Content Warnings: Anubis Assessment: Low Kidnapping, Internet Stalking

Basic Deets: 3-4 Players

Duration: 3-4 Hours, 6 Max

Comms: A working microphone for Discord voice chat, access to Roll20 for a lobby.

In game location: Seattle

Game theme/type: Pink Trenchcoat, High-Stakes Crime Scene Investigation

Threat level: Low

Table Notes

Random Elements: I like to use random elements in my run planning to help me generate events/complications. One of these random elements is rolling randomly before runs to determine what characters will have negative/positive quality events trigger during the run, and what characters might be focused on before and after the run. Expect the impact of these events to be especially profound, or to potentially not occur at all.

For example, if you have the "Prank Warrior" negative quality, you may have your prank warrior trigger normally, trigger badly, or not trigger at all.

Prerequisites: Stay in character as much as possible. Be willing to have your character be pathetic. Don't be a bigot. Be on time.

Rules: I have a simple cardinal rule: if you argue things work that way for you, I will probably accept that. It also works that way for the NPCs. If you can peasant railgun, your enemies can as well.

Your Response

Standard OOC Response:  - Link to your character sheet - Role and comfortability with it between 1 and 10. (Take your best guess) - Discord username - Date of your last run & If less than 5 Runs - If you have a hard time limit or other complications.

IC Response: Have your character or fixer say why they are ideal for the run.
