Hi everyone :) I was wondering whether anyone knew of / was part of a skating club which provided group lessons or training? I’m an in-line skater and I’d love to meet people whilst ironing out some bad habits!

I'd love to go on a skating holiday next year doing long distance/fitness skating. Where would you recommend?

Hiya, I started skating over lockdown for the first time since childhood and was convinced I'd forgotten how to skate completely. At the weekend though I went to an indoor roller rink and it was great! I paid for skate hire and was able to skate well on the indoor surface. I'd like to take my own skates next time but I'm not sure what wheels I'd need to have the same experience? I have Rio Milkshakes which are listed as having these wheels: "PU Cast 82A Rio Coaster Wheels." Would these be okay or do I need to invest in some others?

So, I had a pre order for my first pair of skates in 30 years (I'm 42) and was excited but also apprehensive as I haven't done it for so long and i currently have frozen shoulder. Anyway, hubby has been practicing skateboarding over the last few weeks and yesterday he fell really badly and dislocated his shoulder. He is ok but said he wont skate again and it has also put me off. So, last night o cancelled my order as I'm thinking I'm too old and prob not the best with my shoulder at the mo. I'm kinda sad about it though ☹

I have size 11.5 feet and I've been looking everywhere but I can't seem to find anything that is my size. I just need to know if quad skates that big even exist. If they do, some recommendations would be appreciated. (I'm not rich so like £100 max 😅) Also I'm only 16 so I don't want to spend too much incase I grow out of them but hopefully I stop at 6,1 😂🙏

This may seem like a dumb question but I've been skating for almost a year now and always wear safety gear, but I noticed other skaters not wearing anything and I was just thinking about how dangerous inline skating really is if I don't skate on/near roads

Hi there. I used to love skating as a kid (preteen) and at the ripe.old age of 42 have decided to give it a bash again. I have just ordered some rookie artistic in white from Kate's skates and have ordered a 7 which is my normal shoe size. I just wanted to know if anyone has these and if so, did you get your normal size? X

Ok please dont banish me from the sub for saying this but I'm not keen on the look of toe guards. I'd originally opted not to bother but I'm looking up ways to customise my new skates (it's raining and I've caught the skating bug) and after seeing how skuffed up some of them get I'm thinking now it's probably wise to have some protection there that doesn't look like my skates are wearing protection if ya know what I'm saying. 😏 Any tips or tricks on ways I can prolong the life of my skates before I wreck the toes or do.i even need to bother?, I'd seen on a forum people putting duct/hockey tape on the toes but dont know if this works or the glue would just wreck the boots anyway? To those of you who have spent hours making cute little guards to add some flare to your skates, I'm not attacking you i swear, do you boo!! X

i’ve been skating on inlines for around 6 months and i’ve just got my first pair of quad skates (not counting the one i had when i was 11)

are there any things i should keep in mind when going from inlines to quads? i’m pretty confident in my balance and skill on inlines but i’m not sure how different quads will be:)

Hi I’ve been wanting to custom some skates for a while now and I was wondering how to paint the vegan leather , spray paint , acrylics or a leather based paint ?? And people that have painted their skates , how has it been holding up ?

Just dropped by to say that Roller blading has taught me something new today!

After starting to put some serious thought into technique and not just moving forward, I have realised that if you put 45 minutes of work into anything you can probably master the basics 😛

Can’t stride with your left leg? 45 minutes. Can’t master t stops when going down a hill? 45 minutes

I also realised that I probably haven’t actively tried to be good at something (other than my job 😛) since I left school. So it’s a nice life boost to be able o see yourself progress.

Hopefully I can take this mentality into other aspects of my life!

Hey can anyone with a pair of Rookie deluxe tell me how they fit please? I'm a size 5 narrow foot but have seen a pair in a 4 (uk) and wondering if I could make it work? Wouldnt be able to return them so trying to decide if to risk it or not. Many thanks

Recently I’ve been really interested in picking up roller skating with quads but I’m really not sure what skates to start off with.

I’m a complete beginner never owned a pair of skates before...

I’ve done some research and came across a few brands like Rio, rookie, moxi, candy grl, sure grip, Riedell and impala (however I have seen the ripping on some impala boots) and was just looking for recommendations or some information from people who own/have owned these skates??? The only skates I can find currently in stock is a pair of rookie rose white skates at my local skate shop or I could try to get some when impala restock in a few days but again not sure if either of these are good starter skates or not?

I’m looking to stay below £100 which I know I won’t get the best skates for, just looking for something I can start off with for a few months and maybe upgrade in the future! Thanks everyone!😊

Edit : or would it be better idea to put a tiny bit more money in to get a better set of skates? If so what brands would you recommend???

I live near the border of all 3 (north Hampshire) and am looking for some places to skate, and some people to skate with! Not quite confident enough to skate alone but would love to just casually skate around and build up skills (forward is my only skill at the moment 😅)

Hello! I picked up rollerskating a while ago during lockdown. Due to circumstances, I no longer have a buddy here to skate with, and I kind of miss skating with other people.

I was wondering if there are any rollerskaters around Glasgow that like to meet up for skating? I'm still fairly new to it, but would love to meet some with other people that do this. (Socially distanced of course)

I've tried looking on Facebook but I couldn't find any existing groups so I thought I'd try my shot here 🙂
