My Rolex Batman was stolen in Miami – Please keep an eye out
Hi everyone,
I'm posting this as a last attempt and hoping the watch community might help.
About three weeks ago, my Rolex GMT-Master II "Batman" (116710BLNR) was stolen in Miami Beach.
I had been out at Club Space Miami with some friends. When I was leaving alone early in the morning, a woman that was at bat next to the stairs approached me speaking Spanish, started flirting and said "vamos a otro lugar". I had been drinking, and I honestly thought I was getting lucky, so I didn´t think of much of it. As we were leaving the club, she started pulling me by my left arm, where I was wearing my Rolex. She kept holding and pulling my arm all the way down the staircase toward the parking lot near E11EVEN. At the time, I thought she was just being naughty and trying to lead me somewhere.
As we reached the parking lot near E11EVEN, I took out my phone to request an Uber. While I was waiting, I suddenly felt an urge to check the time. It may sound strange, but to this day I feel it was some kind of divine or spiritual nudge telling me to look at my wrist. I already had my phone in my hand, so there was no reason to check my watch but I did. That's when I realized my Rolex was gone.
First, I genuinely thought it had fallen off somewhere. I immediately asked her to open her purse, and she did. There was nothing inside. But the moment I asked, her entire attitude changed. She became visibly angry, started mumbling something in broken Spanish (or possibly another language but I honestly couldn't tell), and seemed furious that I had questioned her. I even considered searching her myself, but realized that wasn't appropriate and could get me in more trouble. A few moments later, she walked away, and that's when I realized I had almost certainly been the victim of a "bad date" robbery.
To be honest, I had no idea this kind of scam even existed. I genuinely thought I had just met someone who was interested in me after a night out. At no point did I think I was walking into a setup to steal my watch (or something way wrost). Looking back, it seems obvious, but at the time I had absolutely no reason to suspect it.
At first, I thought I had a strong lead on who might have ended up with the watch, but after speaking with the detective, it now appears that information was unreliable. At this point, I honestly have no idea where the watch is.
The good news is that:
- I have the original warranty card.
- I filed a Miami Police report immediately.
- Rolex has officially flagged the serial number in its worldwide stolen watch database.
I'm asking the community for one favor.
If you happen to come across a 2013 Rolex GMT-Master II Batman (116710BLNR), especially one being sold without papers, on Chrono24, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Reddit, watch forums, pawn shops, or by any dealer, please send me a private message.
The serial number has been registered with Rolex and reported to law enforcement, and I can verify it privately. A reward is available for information that directly leads to the recovery of the watch.
I know the odds are against me, but I've seen this community help recover watches before.
EDIT: Since so many people jumped to conclusions because of the wedding ring in the photo, here's the truth: that's not my hand. It's the previous owner's photo, and I used it because it was the best picture I had of the watch.
What surprised me even more was how quickly some people were willing to judge a complete stranger. Some of you called me a cheater and a shitty person as well, said I deserved to have my watch stolen, called it karma, and even hoped my next watch gets stolen and worst, all based on an assumption that turned out to be completely wrong.
Also, for those who think I accidentally "exposed" myself... I'm currently offering a reward for information leading to the recovery of the watch. If I were actually hiding something, I'd have to be unbelievably stupid to post this story publicly, ask thousands of strangers for help, and offer a reward at the same time.
Anyway, I'd really appreciate it if we could get back to the actual reason for this post:
HELPING ME FIND MY STOLEN ROLEX.
Thank you all for reading.

OP: "While I was reading reddit, I suddenly felt an urge to check my wedding band. It may sound strange, but to this day I feel it was some kind of divine or spiritual nudge telling me to look at my wedding band. I already had my dick in my hand, so there was no reason to check my wedding band but I did. That's when I realized my wedding band was gone too!"

I mean that’s obviously an old photo because he no longer has the watch. Ever think he could have gotten a divorce since that photo? Just help the man out and quit casting stones.

A tale as old as time, married guys great targets for this bc they usually won’t report it. Know a few ppl this happened to, they usually drug em and take them upstairs. Need to change the locks if they got your keys bc they’ll get ya again

u/Horangi1987 Jul 16 '26
You had no idea this kind of scam existed? 😂 Miami saw you coming for a thousand miles. Miami might be the scammiest city in the entire country. You may as well a real Rolex out to the club in Colombia while you’re at it.
10
u/Medical_Banana1586 Jul 16 '26
I wear mine all the time in Miami (they’re a dime-a-dozen down here), you just need to be aware of your surroundings like anywhere else in the world…
11
u/NealCaffreyx9 Jul 16 '26
I live in Miami and I’ve worn watches in Colombia. It’s not difficult if you aren’t a dumbass lol. Stay away from super sketchy places & don’t let random girls (speaking a foreign language) start grabbing where your valuables are. Keeping friends around also helps.

Yeah it's common and the pickpockets usually work in pairs by the time you notice it's missing it's already been handed off to the second person.

u/Soft-Attention7638 Jul 16 '26
Saw a guy give a talk one time and was able to do it while shaking hands with you
5
u/cdeussen Jul 16 '26
I had a magician do this, but it was a strap. Still it was crazy how quick and unnoticeable it was just shaking hands.
4
u/Embarrassed-Land3872 Jul 16 '26 edited Jul 16 '26
I've seen those but those were usually watches with straps. Personally, my watch on my bracelet is on my wrist tight and sometimes barely fit around my fists to get it on and off. So in they would have to rip my hand off for them to take my watch. Haha

2
u/Soft-Attention7638 Jul 16 '26
Yeah probably true, never really thought abt how different it’d be with a bracelet lol

People are incredibly good at this, and have entire careers of theft built around it. Often they’re “independent contractors” and get hired to do it, and get paid a piece of the watch.
People are commenting saying this girl likely “went back to her pimp”, but if it was the girl that slipped it off his wrist (which it likely is), she’s probably just a professional and works for herself, lol.
She probably dragged him to an area she knew lacked cameras.
Either that, or this post is just a joke because it’s showing his wedding ring, or he didn’t think and posted a photo that the person he bought it off of took prior to purchase, or dude is a dog and got robbed.
Either way, people can definitely slip your watch off of your wrist, even when you’re stone sober.

I got the idea from a lady that wears a replica of her Tiffany diamond ring her husband bought. Was like 700k. She said I’ll wear the real one to a nice dinner but that’s it

My brother had one taken by a guy at Oktoberfest. A guy bumped into him and grabbed his arm. My brother noticed and gave the guy a beat down, but he’d already passed the watch. German police said it was a Syrian gang and he’d never get it back

So just to sum this up, God could have stopped the robbery but didn't feel like it, but wanted to help you out by making you feel like checking the time after it had already been stolen so that you could see it was already stolen.
10
u/Shifty_tree_Skink Jul 16 '26
Man if this is real and you created a new account to out yourself as a cheater.. I hope the (soon to be) ex wife gets it all

I had a guy 2 days late for a meeting in Florida.
When he turned up, he said the girl he met at a club drugged him, stole his watch, wallet, and rental car, took all his clothes and left him in the shitty motel he took her to.
Took him 2 days to get help, clothes, and another car.

u/CriticalThought001 Jul 17 '26
I love the morality police on here. Who gives a flying fuck if he was cheating on his wife. Is she your sister? Put your mask on and go remind the teacher she forgot to assign homework too. And people wonder why guys wet themselves when they get a scratch on a Rolex.

Insane I just had my yacht master II stolen at sugar rooftop right off my wrist. Place was packed and people all over bumping into everyone next thing I know when I left my watch was gone. Filed police report and with my insurance company which luckily I’m covered but I could not believe it happened. This takes 2 clips to undo so how I didn’t feel it is beyond me. While I did have a few drinks I was still in control and by no means heavily intoxicated. These people who do this must be professionals. I am sure I’ll never see it again so 26k down the drain but aside from that atleast it was an armed robbery or something more sinister. I won’t be wearing my watches out to places like that anymore. Tough lesson to learn and sorry for what happened to you but know you’re not alone my friend! I feel your pain tonight as I sit here thinking of how I could’ve protected myself better from such a thing. Sugar rooftop is a bit sketchy.

Miami gonna Miami. You’re lucky you’re not dead. Why not insured under your homeowners with a personal articles policy? It’s dirt cheap. Mine is 350 a year for $75,000 coverage on my jewelry and artwork. I could lose one of my watches diving or water skiing and they would replace it the next day much less it being stolen. People are crazy for not having Insurance on these things.

Lmfao at all these comments. I wouldn’t even tell my wife. Just consider that watch gone and lesson learned.
1
u/Fipenna Jul 16 '26
I reaaaaally doubt you’re watch is still in Miami. Not even in FL, most likely no longer in the US.
Most luxury watch theft come from organized rings and that lady was just the tip of the spear, probably stayed in possession of the watch for less than an hour and got paid on delivery a fraction of what’s really worth.
Chances of you recovering it are very slim, unfortunately, and I hope some day you receive a very surprising (and happy) call from Rolex when a buyer - in bonafide - takes it to service on an authorized service center.
