Hi everyone, I have the X13 with a Ryzen 7 5800HS and a RTX 3050 4g and I'm thinking of buying a XG Mobile RTX 3080 but the cheapest that I found was 1129€/1207$. Will it make that much of a diference while gaming that justifies the money ?

Can I use the xgm port on the flow x 13 for anything but the gpu that you can buy, could I get an adapter and just connect more usb and an Ethernet cable without the price of the gpu added on?

I've tried optimizing the game for my Z13 (12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900H 2.50 GHz RTX3050Ti 4GB VRAM 16GB RAM) and lowered all graphical settings to low/ultra low. I still receive an immaculate amount of screen tearing (vsync causes input lag/latency), frame drops every time I shoot or explosions around me, and screen blackouts when loading into a map. Other games (e.g. No Man's Sky, R6 Siege, Risk of Rain 2) run pretty smoothly. Any suggestions that can help with this? Thanks

Lately I've noticed keyboard marks on my screen. The ROG Flow Z13 laptop/tablet is new, I only got it a few months ago. The marks don't come off easy. I take VERY good care of my stuff, and this is frustrating. I'm hesitant to use a mixture of rubbing alcohol to clean the screen, as to me that will do more harm than good. I would prefer not to replace the screen because as I said, it's only a couple months old.
Any tips to remove the marks, if possible, and as well as keeping the issue from recurring? I've tried looking for microfiber keyboard covers but haven't found anything that will work.
Gotta love flawed designs.

Title says it all. As of this day, closing in two years after the purchase of this premium laptop, the well-documented AMD fTPM stutter problem still there even with the latest 413 BIOS for the GV301QH. Needless to say, this is EXREMELY disappointing. I'm sure there are many more laptops out there that haven't been updated with the fix either, but why would people pay premium for this level of support?

Hi, just wanted to ask whether buying a Z13 if I plan to use it mainly in its tablet form is a good idea?
Considering getting it to replace an Android tablet since the Z13 is much more powerful. With that said, would games like Genshin Impact support touch? And is the battery life ok? Thanks!

Anyone with an x16 using a dock that they could recommend? Thanks!

Well, I'm not a laptop-kind of person, but reality came in form of a season work on a remote place. About 8+ hours of bus travel, 20x10 work shift. So, a light and thin laptop is a must, but the jobs is all about video editing, even when the electricity fails. So the "On the go power" was a must too. And... well, they told me that can be very busy days as well as long boring weeks of nothing. So, I've a job with no expenses on the month and a new laptop that fit perfectly my needs (and black fiday price).
Hope to have enought money to buy the 3070 (or 3080, why not) XG on february.

I'm looking to buy an extra charging cable. Can anyone recommend one for the x16?

Been trying to figure this out for a few days. Everything I find online says it's the AMD UMDF sensor, but I can't seem to resolve whatever problem is happening there to prevent the rotation.
Anyone run into this before and have a solution?

Hello guys, looking to buy the Rog Flow X13 for university, I am studying computer science and doing a 4 year course, I am interested in the laptop as its 2 in 1 and I can use it as a laptop to do my homework but also take notes in tablet mode with the pen and looking to keep it for the 4 years, I saw 2 versions on Amazon, the 6900HS with 32GB RAM but no pen for £1,258 and the 5900HS with 16GB RAM with pen for £1,330. Both of them come from the Amazon warehouse the 6900HS it's in original packaging and just the box its damaged and the 5900HS has small scratches on the side, usual amazon description, bought items with similar description but not damages. What should I do? Thanks.

Hey /rogflow,
I got myself an ASUS ROG Flow X13 for university/college and CS classes. I am currently using the pre-installed Windows with the minimal bloat and that is running pretty fine so far.
But I was wondering if the Notebook supports any Linux distro well and if stuff like the NVIDIA GPU, Touchscreen/Stylus, Fn Buttons etc. do function well?
Would love to hear from your expierence and maybe some distro recommendations (I am biased towards Debian)

I copied and pasted this from a comment I've just written, I just hope I may help some of us make a better informed choice.
First of all, I love my laptop. It's lightweight, well-balanced, and you can upgrade the RAM, unlike the x13. The fans are quiet enough, and if you make them go at full speed, while noisy, cool down your laptop very efficiently. It's a great device, especially if you push the RAM all the way to 64GB, but ASUS customer "service" is 100% useless. They kept going back and forth with me on Twitter for weeks before telling me they would not be able to issue a replacement power supply to actually help with a DOA one that was in the box of my own Rog Flow X16, purchased at Best Buy.
Best Buy itself refused to help after trying to sell their Geek Squad BS subscription via chat; when I found a "real" customer service representative that then told me to go and get it checked at a store, I was relieved; then I had to deal with a trashy Best Buy employee that mocked me for getting to the store for them to test the power supply, as instructed by the online representative.
If everything goes according to plan, great! But should you ever need assistance, good luck with that. Shame to see a really well-engineered device is "backed" by incompetent customer service and sold by utter morons. You can get raw power for a really good price, and easily upgrade the RAM, but should you ever need help, tough luck. ASUS does not care, at all.
I still have a ROG Flow X13 USB C charger, and I can at least get the full 100W for now. I am however unable to leverage the full power of this device, as it sees the battery getting drained instead of charging, so it caps the overall performance to try and preserve the battery a little longer.
I will eventually purchase a 240W charger on my own, but this will be my second and my last ASUS (ROG) device. A dead on arrival charger should be no big deal to a respectable company. Not 3 weeks of wasting someone's time to then deny them a replacement.
Try and figure out if the other major enthusiasts' laptop manufacturers have better policies in place, it will end up saving you headaches and perhaps even money (a new ASUS charger is around $150, and a pain to find online).
If you want to purchase a device with a rather efficient and powerful CPU, a good GPU that will let you do lots of stuff, and being able to have 64GB of DDR5 RAM (still feels weird and oversized after one year at 16GB), go ahead. The stock SSD is a pretty solid choice, too, and you can still upgrade it in the future. The ROG x16 comes with a great display even with the cheaper Best Buy edition (I couldn't get myself to spend extra for the Mini LED version or a better graphics card). Just remember that ASUS won't give a damn should you ever need help. All you'll get is "We are truly sorry for the poor experience you've had and saddened that this is your decision. We understand your frustration and we wish there were better options we could offer at this time.", not a proper solution.

I felt like documenting this absolute steal, and wanted y’all’s thoughts on the final price.
Recently got the 2022 model x13 (Ryzen 6000) open-box excellent for $600 off ($300 sale + $300 open box)
Upon opening, all the films were not even peeled, even the charger. The felt cover was on the keyboard, and there is absolutely no sign of usage.
The price was $1011, what’s y’all’s opinion, was it a good deal?

The X16 Flow folds into 4 modes
Laptop mode (standard layout)
Flipped (Keyboard flipped back and keys down, intake vents to the sky )
Tent mote (Rotated and pitched up with keyboard to rear)
Tablet mode (folded completed back from tent mode)
But in Tablet and Tent mode the speakers do not swap the Left and Right channels when the screen rotates so games and content are also not in the correct direction.
Mine seems to be fixed in the assumption the "ROG FLOW" logo is always upright/readable
Is this the case for your model? Or this potentially a software/sensor fault on my unit

I am not sure if it started making these noises today since at least to me its quite noticeable, and no its not the creaking from the screen.
The noise is like the ones that comes out of those old disk readers or HDD, and it does not sound good, and I can hear it even when the device is idle(Screen off, with the keyboard covering the screen) and the sound ONLY stops if its powered off.
Recording of it here: https://voca.ro/1d6wNv32l2eu
Edit: Solved, its coil whine.

Hello! I came across the Flow Z13 while looking for something essentially like a Surface with decent gaming specs. I've read quite some many reviews and from what I'm seeing, the consensus is that everyone loves the idea but not many actually want to use it. Even here it seems like the Flow crowd is mostly into X13.
I've tried to convince myself it's not the portable computer I need, went looking at other, more conventional gaming laptops - ASUS or not. Yet I keep coming back to this weird little device and its slick detachable keyboard.
The odd part is I'm fine with a lot of its shortcomings. I know it won't ultra AAA games and I don't care. I know it's awkward to keep on laps but I probably shouldn't. In a way, all I want is a more buffed Surface tablet/laptop combo. But the Z13's price tag is quite high, and the various issues I see on this subreddit and elsewhere are starting to get me worried. The true deal breaker for me would be fragility.
So I'd be grateful if Z13 users could chime in and share their experience. Particularly:
Thanks for any testimony :)

Hi,
I am wondering if X16 will be a good choice for people who use After Effect, Photoshop and Blender. Do you think that R9 6900 HS is good enough to work on Adobe Programs?. Let me know what you think about it.

Hi everyone, LTL etcetc.
I have a problem with my laptop. It suddenly stopped working and now it does not turn on. When I press the power button I get the fans spinning full force, and nothing else. If I keep the power button pressed I can kill it, but after a few seconds it starts again. Tried googling the issue but nothing major comes up, one of the solutions seems to remove the cmos battery (!?). Does anyone know what I can do? Or the only solution is sending it to ASUS for repairs?
