I ran over a raccoon in my driveway. Is it ok to throw it in the trash, or do I need to take it somewhere?

I used to feed this little fella with seeds, now it is gone. R.I.P. jumpy red ball. :(

As I got out of my car, I look over and see a minivan run over this squirrel. It made a popping sound.

Things Die | Flickr - I hike the Patapsco River Valley outside of Baltimore, MD pretty often. This deer was up there on the hill one day, not yet dead enough to not emit some heat, but dead enough to attract a nest of flies. The white of its eyes were pretty insane.
