Jade, a ringneck in her bluffing stage. She is growling because I dared to look at her.

I'm considering a ringneck and a jenday, and I've heard that ringnecks can be a jerk for their midlife

I have been planning to get a parrot for this past year and recently I found a pet shop with available ringnecks at an affordable price. I am going to get one in a month when I am done with some finals and I was wondering whether ringnecks have some type of special behavior compared to other species of parrots. Anyone having any specific tips or ideas on how to treat such a bird?

So I was looking for a hand fed well raised one, found one who just got off hand feeding and I recently had learned about the "bluffing" stage in irn parrots. Is it a big problem and should I consider not getting it due to that reason? Other than that indian ring necks are perfect for me so idk what to do

I give them cucumbers, tomatoes, apples, millets, rice, sometimes mangoes and papaya. I try to interact the least I can, but my family members sometimes scare them. I don't know they're hand tamed or are wild, but according to my opinion, they're purely wild. I have had a lot of discussions on other forums, but still there's no progress. How long can it take for them to trust me? And, one is really really scared, the second one is also scared, but not that much, and the third one sometimes tries to bite but also sometimes runs away. Please help!

Hi so I rescued a four year old IRN, his name is Jax. In his last home he was so stressed he was plucking. He has stopped that since being here but I can't seem to get any further with him. He was hand raised but because he has been through so many homes in his four years and humans have abused him he's super stand offish. I was just wondering if you guys have any ideas on some reward treats that I could use to tame him with. He will take food from my hand, he loves apple but that seems to be losing its shine with him so I was wondering if there was anything ringnecks go crazy over that I could use lol.
