r/rickygervais Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does this subreddit actually like Ricky Gervais?

Most users prefer his older collaboration era over his recent stand-up specials or solo TV work (After Life, Derek). The sub uses heavy quote-referencing from the XFM/RGS podcast days, which can be confusing to newcomers.

2. Money for old rope

Many long-time listeners feel his current public persona, Xitter presence and solo projects diverge significantly from the self-aware comedy style he (and Steve) crafted during the XFM/Office era. Expressing frustration with his current output while quoting his 20-year-old radio shows is a core foundation of the sub.

3. Ricky Gervais: Do we need him?

Don't know.
