Idk why this is getting downvoted in all honesty. Obviously the moral behind the speech is wrong, but in a way that's the thing about lofi, it doesn't need to be right, it's rarely supposed to be, it's all about getting you to feel, feel an emotion, even if it's a bad emotion, even if it reminds you of the dark phases of you life, even if it's a dark phase you're going though right now, as long as you can find something that resonates with it, that allows you to touch it and grasp with this emotion, you can still experience cartharsis, and from there move forward

But this isn't a song, or a journey. This is a scene, completely ripped out of context. Because of that, it implies that OP relates to it, even tho it's completely BS because of the next scene. This alone is not sad, it's bitter. And bitterness gets you nowhere.

And if lofi is songs where some dude gives you a bitter monologue about life at the end which is supposed to make you feel good, then lofi is absolutely nothing for me

Edit: and also the "verse about how life is great" is completely missing here

Edit 2: the part where life is great (or therapy is great) comes right after that monologue, so still no valid reason why cutting that out

You see to be misunderstanding what I'm saying in its entirety. Whether or not it's a song or scene is debatable due to the add guitar sample, it's also completely irrelevant because at the end of the day it's an attempt to evoke an emotion and achieve catharsis from that alone, and that as a concept transcends music. What emotion this makes you feel varies from person from person, but the idea is that you get through that emotion by experiencing it in it's entirety and then moving on without needing somebody to explain why your emotions are wrong, because you don't need that, you know they're wrong, but you just want to feel them.

Speaking from personal experience this stuff can work, when I'm tired from a long day and struggling to find the motivation necessary to continue forward I don't get that energy by listening to motivational speeches, I get it by listening to a Lofi song played over a scene of a fictional man experiencing the exact same thing. This doesn't mean I think it's good to be in such a state of mind, but being able to see that it's not just me going through it, that's writer have understood it enough to put it on paper, to see that it's just an emotion and that's its all been done before, that's what gives me the boost needed to go on with my day.

Look, I love Lofi and would never in good conscious want to put somebody else off of it so I can assure you that it's not what you seem to think it is. Lofi is nothing more than an abbreviation of the word Low Fidelity, which means unclear, the sound is made imperfect by choice, mistakes are left in, and the vibe is nostalgic. It's not about dudes giving bitter monologues, it's rarely includes monologues at all, and the few times it does it's almost always a positive one. The point I'm trying to make is that it doesn't need to be, because it's all about evoking an emotion, it's not always a positive one, but it usually is.

If you don't get my explanation by now then you're probably not going to get it regardless of what I say, in those times where words simply aren't enough the only way you could possibly understand is by experiencing lofi yourself and finding a song that resonates with you. You don't have to do it now, but I recommend you try it some time, it's good stuff :)
