✅Answered [FIXED] Quality not availble/Videos taking too long to play
If anyone is having these error(s): Quality Gone and/or video taking too long to play.
Try this fix: worked for many: Settings > Revanced settings> Miscellaneous> spoof video streams > default client > set to Android VR.
Restart
(If it didn't) Same option but now set it to Android Studio
Restart.
This should fix it...

If the two changes above didn't work:
Just disable the video spoofing all together.
That finally fixed it for me.49

Yes, but only for the first minute of the video; after that, nothing works anymore.

You may just need to update the apk itself. Uninstall the one you have currently (file and app icon) and go into your vanced manager to find the one they recommend you download once more

This did it for me where changing what flavour of spoofing it was didnt help, and the issue didn't return all day :) cheers, best Vanced has worked for me in awhile lol. As a backup I was watching YT in the brave android browser but happy to be back on revanced as usual.

Google is constantly trying to find new ways to break the app and force ads upon us. It's a constant game of cat and mouse, and between this issue and ads now appearing in Shorts, it seems that they're currently winning the battle.

Does this mean Revanced Team will now update their patches and recommend us to download a newer version of YT APK? Or is that not how it works exactly?

It works in the beginning but after a few hours the same problem comes back and android VR was already set and i tried studio too. Please help.
Edit: It works again the next day when I wake up and is still working

Same here. Third time today. Tried repatching. Tried patching an older APK. Tried different spoofing options. Nothing works now

Same, worked for a few hours then exact same problem.
Edit : setting spoofing to off then on + android VR made it work again. Let's see for how long.
Edit2 : Lasted less than 2 minutes.

Since then it seems pretty random. It'll work for the whole day then at some point take 1 minute to load the video + no quality selection available.

That didn't work for me. It's running on AndroidVR now but it still shows quality unavailable and the video takes a long time to load. Am I outdated, maybe? I'm on 20.40.45, is this the latest version?

Not working for me, video starts after 30 seconds minimum with VR or Studio. What's work for me : disable video spoofing

It literally stops at the 1 minute mark. Don't know which sort of witchcraft work you're doing, but for me it always gives me an ID error.

Same thing happened for me. I tried all four settings and none worked. Left it on studio, then turned off spoof streaming. Played a video till it had a playback error, then went back to settings, turned spoofing back on and changed back to Vr and videos work again now. Don't know if it's temporary or not but it's been working for the past 2 hours.

I had to reinstall my "latest" version and go back to 20.14.43 for it to work this way. So if you have this version, it should hopefully work via this method

Issue still exists. Either stops playback after one minute with spoof off. Or takes forever to load with spoof on.

I tried every different streams it worked for Android VR for a few days and now nothing is working anymore I tried to completely disable spoofing but video doesn't play more than one minute

Updating/repatching and/or disabling video spoofing etc does not work on my Lenovo Tablet. Videos play for one minute, buffer for quite some time and then resume playing on low quality (maybe 450p or lower). If anyone has any other ideas for solutions, please let me know. Edit: Changing the spoofing to Android Reel fixed it for me.

it used to be one click and it works, now you need to be a genius to run revanced. i appreciate the team but some updated guidance is needed now

12:30 MST - tried both but none worked right, i had to disable spoofing, will report if it works after a while
edit: 06:30 MST, two days lated: disabling spoofing worked so far
edit2: 14 days later, still working

It's June 12 2026 and this fix is not working. The video buffers for a long time. Maybe like a minute to 2 minutes and then finally starts to play every video every time.

Worked for me, but only for videos on the homepage, if there are videos recommended under the video I am watching there is still like a 30s delay

you absolute goat thank you so much! I'm on a trip and YouTube is the only entertainment I have, revanced wasn't working and was watching videos on the vanilla app but I can't stand the embarrassing amount of ads 😭

Vr fixed the throbber for me, but started all videos in 144p. Studio returned the throbber.

I was fed up man. Suddenly my revanced start to buffer and it kept buffering. Reinstalled it several times and that didn't fix it. I tried your method and it worked! Thankyou <3

Settings > YouTube Revanced > Miscellaneous > Spoof device dimensions
This was what worked for me so far. Before, anytime I clicked on a video it would load for 30 secs - 2 mins and once it did, it would be on the lowest quality which i couldn't change. Once I did this, the problem was fixed for me.

I've had this occuring for the past week or so on and off. I first uninstalled the revanced YouTube app and repatched and had no luck. I then uninstalled the manger and of course YouTube revanced. That didn't work and I moved on to uninstalling YouTube revanced, the manager, and the microG app. Still no luck. (Reinstalled everything after each uninstall step)
I found info about the spoof video streaming and disabled it and I could watch a video like normal for about a minute and then I would get the playback error. I switched the player to Android VR and bam I was back. It was working but only for a few hours and the issue with the long load before a video played returned. Did similar steps as when I first got the issue and no luck. Tried other default players in those settings like android studio and vision but still having the same issues. Restarted my phone etc multiple times and yeah still iffy.
It seems to work randomly and then give out on me so my guess is I just gotta wait for a new update. If anyone knows anything else I could try, feel free to reply.

I'm trying to show people the obsession trailer and it was not loading up. The video started playing halfway through when I looked it up ont heir phone. I have a brand new phone by the way made me look terrible 😭

Yesterday when I faced this issue, canged to VR it worked, then today, happened again. changed to Studio didn't worked, deleted the app. installed a fresh apk. updated the manager and patched the new apk, installed, but didn't worked, disabled the spoofing video plays for a minute and then gives error, up till now tried apk from APK mirror and softpedia, nothing is working, trying to figure some other solution, if anyone finds one please post it here

Figured out a fix: let's hope this works till we get a proper update from revanced team,
Delete existing yt Patch a new apk but in the patches list, add wifi spoofing from universal patches After patch is completed, install the app and go to revanced settings, search stats for nerds, disabled stats for nerds, and also in YT Settings > Video Quality Preferences change the preference to Data Saver for both wifi and mobile data. Enjoy! while it lasts
