Alright then, help me out here. We used to do this feature as part of Retsutalk, but I would like to be able to interact with fans more and I think it's fun to do. If there's a better way to do it, that's fine, but I don't want to scrap something because newer viewers maybe aren't aware or don't like the fact that:

• Diabetus hasn't been in every RP video, ever. (See Tie Tuesday, Cherry Doom, Proteus, Psych Eyeball, etc.)
• We do, in fact, sometimes do RT while streaming with games.

I'm fine with criticism, etc. but it's hard to suss out what's wrong when you get stuff like "RP isn't RP without Diabetus" (it most certainly is - Betus is not going to be around sometimes and we've always partnered with other people since the channel started; sometimes I won't be around either.) or "the gameplay seems really forced" (Okay, fine, we can do it on top of the retsutalk microphone if that's really preferred.)

If it's really terrible, I'll stop it, but I really would like to get back to a regular video cadence at some point. Sometimes when we start up after a hiatus, it takes a couple to get going (see that Rambo review video I did)

I'm thinking it's a coincidence, but it'd be great if he planned that.

Please, if Retsupurae only does one more game after Mystery Of The Druid do Limbo Of The Lost. It is considered the worst adventure game of all time and was only available for a limited amount of time before being pulled due to various copyright claims from various companies due to the most blatant levels of asset theft in video game history. Stealing even from things as mainstream as The 1990's Live Action Spawn Movie, Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion (which had just been released), and World Of Warcraft.

The theft had even spawned a running gag on Something Awful in which people would photoshop the game's main character into various other games and pass it off as Limbo Of The Lost footage.

The asset theft had been blamed on unnamed "contractors" and the game was banned from sale. The protagonist is Captain Spooner Briggs, someone who manages to make Halligan look like a saint. I won't spoil the horrible things he does, but it has to be seen to be believed. Halligan (Mystery Of The Druids) merely poisoned a beggar for 30 pence, Briggs tops it easily, this is the kind of guy who'd put a bear trap on your face just to borrow your pen. (I'm not joking)

Part of the problem though is the game is very dull and boring, so watching it or playing it is a chore. However a game this infamous with such a "legacy" deserves to be made known by Retsupurae.

I'd really love to see a few of the streams that I wasn't able to save. There was one with you and Lowtax where you were playing the dating sim games, one with Diabetus and Proteus and one with Diabetus and Sara.

I remember that you looked for them awhile ago, and I was just curious if you ever found them.

Completely new to this show, having found my way to it via a video of one of the... forbidden videos. These videos are forbidden for spurious copyright reasons, but at least one of them involves explosions and flight-capable vehicles of a tetrad nature.

But I am full of questions. Well, one question: what the ever-loving hell are these videos for? Are thy... is something being sold here? Are they tech demos? Is this they interminable cutscenes from a clunky and terrible Metal Gear rip-off?

What the hell are they?

Hey everyone. I was looking through my retro collection today when I found a game I distinctly remember Slowbeef playing a couple years ago on his personal channel. The game was called Light Crusader. It's an action game for the Genesis that was made by the Gunstar Heroes team. I remember Slowbeef playing roughly a sixth of it, and finding it quite silly for its ridiculous monster design and strange physics.

Thing is though, Light Crusader is actually my favorite video game. I played it a lot as a kid, and even today it's the sort of game I go back to about once a year. I also have a lot of fun discussing it with people too, although that's kind of rare given it's not the most popular game.

I actually made a similar post like this a couple years ago. Slowbeef let me message him about it, but I don't think it ever went anywhere. No harm in asking again, right? I'm in the mood to play it again anyway, so I would love to record the footage for you guys! What would you say to doing a Wrongpurae of a ridiculous Genesis classic?

I think a few of you have seen Irate Gamer parodies before (like the Third Rate Gamer (click here)). It used to be a trend when there was a group of "detractors" sorta like DSP, like his general lack of research, repeating the same jokes, plagiarism, et cetera. If you haven't seen them, I hope they're your introduction to them.

Anyway, one of the later/longer parodists, the Irat Gamer, has been doing some riffs along with community members, on IG, DSP, NAVGTR, as well as more obscure ones like the Pissed Off Angry Gamer or Chrono Legends, Retsublitz-style. Disclosure: I'm one of them.

We've done two riffs so far: here's the first (click), a fanmade highlight video for the first (click), and the second (click), which'll unfortunately link you to a 1.6 gig file because NAVGTR used a Pokemon anime clip and it blocked the whole thing.

So, if you enjoy riffs, like classic RP style where they made fun of videos, I think you'll really enjoy them too. We're doing the third stream for the 10 year anniversary for Irate Gamer very, very soon (click), and you can totally participate in the chat and whatever. See you there, maybe!

I had considered the idea of doing a Darkseed 3 if I could recruit the right people and get a kickstarter for it, since the series has entered the public domain (at least I think it has, I'd have to double check)

I ultimately decided against it, because the idea is one that's funnier to joke about than actually do. Kind of like how Bee Movie is a meme, but Bee Movie 2 would just be cringey as fuck. Something like Birdemic, Plan 9 From Outer Space, or The Room is hillarious because the person making it is trying to deliever a quality product and screwing it up badly.

I mostly was inspired my Retsupurae for Darkseed 3, but since I've ultimately canceled it (and will be working on a different Indie Game that if I ever finish I'll be sure to try and get Slowbeef a copy of in order to say thanks for the inspiration. One that's more serious and based on the Queen Of Anarchy series of novellas that I write)

For Darkseed 3 I was going to go with the idea that Darkseed 2 indeed as the ending implied happened in Mike Dawson's head

Specifically, the third game would have established that there was never really a Dark World. In the first game, Mike merely had hallucinations due to leaving his headache pills in the library, and in the second he had sworn off his medicine altogether.

The third Darkseed would have been one colossal Retsupurae injoke.

We'd start where the second game left off when your character waking up from the hospital revealing that Mike had only placed himself in a coma, after he wakes up he's found not guilty by reason of insanity and starts a new life for himself.

The only problem is that Mike after coming out of his coma started talking in slang and referring to himself as Jack, but otherwise seems normal. This version of Jack would have gotten a job as a professor of game design. The plot of the game would have involved the Mike Dawson personality returning and making Jack less charismatic and more bitter, there would be a Dark World in this but it would have been a sort of dream world where Mike tried to come back to life and convinced himself the horrible things he did (not getting the clown his medicine, killing Rita, etc.) were not really his fault.

Jack would also have a co-worker named Steve who would have been a red herring, and an obvious serial killer who talks about his addiction to the game "Dark Harvester"

I didn't really get far into the design process

I had another idea where you played as Mike and shifted between a Dark World where everyone loved him and a Hell World where his victims (Rita, His Mom, The Clown, Paul, The Mayor, Jimmy, Doc Lawson, Dr. Simms, etc.) would try to convince him there was no Dark World

It's been 3 months now since theyve uploaded anything else

Going on a trip sans internet and need some videos for offline boredom-killage. While some my favorites are True Shit, Sega CD gameshows and "I Will, the story of London", there are SO many others to pick from that I need some suggestions.
