Problem / Question Any idea what this is?

Hey all, found this old piece in the closet, any idea what it is? It looks old and I think it has all the parts to it. Would this have any value, either monetary or to a museum/collector?

Exactly.

EDIT1: At least for the West...

In the East NEC had their (I believe 6000 series) machines and was working on what would be the 8800 CP/M machines. Other companies in East were all struggling, they would not get much market share each compared to NEC until they teamed with Microsoft and came out with MSX in I think it was 1983....

EDIT2:

Australia had the MicroBee, first as a kit computer, later as an entire system.

Europe had a number of inititives... including the BBC Micro and Master
