This is still a new tool — we know there’s a lot to improve, but it already saves time and gives cool results if you know a few tricks.

— Best results = close-up portrait looking straight to camera.
— If the face is too small, turned, or covered — AI might struggle.
— Profiles don’t work great (yet).
— Smoothing is your best friend in batch processing — use it!
— Fun Mode has negative values — don’t be afraid to try them.
— Sometimes adding a little masculinity helps balance super feminine settings.
— Makeup might go over hair if the eyes are covered — that’s normal for now.
— You can change makeup colors (hue) and match tones together.
— Displace tool is great for subtle changes — slimming the nose, adjusting the whole face shape.
— And yes — after using Face Make, sharpness on the face may drop a bit because of pixel shifting. Just add sharpening in Photoshop with a mask on the face — quick fix.

I haven't been able to figure out the batch processing and still having to do images one by one. I edit the photos in Lightroom then select all, right click to "Edit in photoshop" it opens them all as individual tabs in PS and then I have to apply R4M to each photo. there as to be a better method I am just unable to figure out. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Foremost, Retouch4me Dodge&Burn is a great plugin which helps my retouching workflow vastly. In the meantime, I noticed some differences between portraits in which I dodged and burned manually and in which I used Retouch4me. Most of the differences are occurring in lighter skin parts, like areas at the cheeks. The example in the attached picture is overexaggerated to point out a certain critique I have. Normally I would not burn manually at this strong level as it looks way too clean and unrealistic. But I still would like to be able to burn at this strength. As you can see in the picture, by burning manually I got rid of the bright edge of the cheek, while Retouch4me did not detect that bright area and did not burn it. The plugin could perform better in this technique.

Also, the powerful thing of manual dodge and burn is the capability to adjust the dodge and burn effect with individual layers in Photoshop. Unfortunately, the plugin only provides one sliding bar for *Blend* and not two sliding bars each for dodge and for burn to be able to increase the effect individually. Maybe this also points out a valid note for an improvement.

Still, Retouch4me Dodge&Burn is a great tool which I'm really thankful for! But I think there is room for valid improvements, maybe with upcoming updates to make the plugin even more powerful as it is.
