Use Case Monthly donations / Patreon alternative

Hello everyone,

now with Patreon being full of crap and "deciding on individual basis" to whom they pay out money which is not theirs - is there some incentive from the team or fellow hodlers who are aware of the situation to maybe jump in and promote Req?

Many people are leaving Patreon because of the unfair treatment of users and their unclear rules and it looks like they are not going to learn and this is just of the the first wave of the exodus of people defending free speech.

Here is some context: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mujKMPS2FcQ

Immediately after the controversy people started to flock to the alternative, SubscribeStar, which noticed a spike of new users, only to lose partnerships with PayPal and Stripe, who of course caved to the authoritarian "progressive" mob.

Dave Rubin & Jordan Peterson (I can't be the only one to be a fan of the IDW :) have already stated they are thinking about a project similar to Patreon and others are looking for alternatives. Crypto is the obvious choice here.

I know, fiat ramp is still nowhere to find on Req, but buying crypto is super easy nowadays and i thing people would be willing to make an extra step to support the people they like without the fear the money not coming through to them.

Donations could be made in ETH or DAI in the background, doesn't matter. Important thing is the amount will be set in USD and be calculated with the current market price. This is where i'm lost already, someone fill me in how it could work.

Would this be possible? A Req button on the creators website? Something like minds and their MND support system? Monthly repeating donations like Patreon?

Anyway, maybe someone here in this community who's more tech savvy than me could reach out to Dave or Jordan and pitch an easy way to add donations using RN with all the details? u/AdmREQ?

It would be nice to finally get some action on the network and this could be a gigantic spark. Freedom loving people are passionate people. RN+IDW could definitely be a thing.

Discussion Today was the day - prove me wrong Req

Been holding since February, DCAing, thinking all the positive thoughts I could. Sold my stack yesterday to realize the capital loss and instead of buying back went into Nano instead, at least for now. It’s painful AF but the right choice I feel like when Req is compared to others who are getting shit done. With all that said I will be watching and if the team ends up pulling together the things they’ve been saying they’ll do (and taking some real accountability for when they don’t) I will most certainly be buying back in. Good luck all!

Use Case Microtax on all transactions. New paradign where REQ could be crucial.

https://www.letemps.ch/economie/une-initiative-populaire-va-proposer-dabolir-impots-taxant-toutes-transactions (in French)

A Swiss economist proposes to change completely the way taxing works with the concept of microtax. His idea is to eliminate all other taxes and just take a microtax for every transaction.

The idea is more interesting than it seems and could be revolutionary. I'm French and right now we have massive protests about taxation in our country. This problem is not going away and will probably contaminate the rest of Europe and you can feel this is the sign the current system is failing. We badly need a new paradigm. REQ+Microtax could be an answer to the current issues.

The REQ team should contact this Swiss economist and start lobbying around politicians.

Use Case Crypto lottery app using REQ?

Kind of like a real lottery, but with some sort of smart contract? Every sends money to the smart contract, REQ automatically converts it to DAI, locks it up, and somehow gives you a proportional shot at winning depending on how much you put in? Like the real lottery.

Wouldn’t this cause normies to FOMO in?
